The Carver 390/404 Cockpit Motor Yacht (called the 390 from 1993-1995 and the 400 from 1996-98) is a cockpit version of Carvers very poplar 350/355/356 Motor Yacht. Aside from the versatility that a cockpit provides (they make great dive or fishing platforms and boarding is a lot less hassle), the extra length usually adds a knot or two to the speed while at the same time improving the boats overall profile. Like her smaller sistership, the interior is surprisingly complete and includes two heads, a roomy galley, full dinette and double berths in both staterooms. The optional lower helm is a popular feature, and the salon is open and quite spacious. Additional features include attractive light oak interior woodwork, relatively wide sidedecks, and a well arranged flybridge with plenty of guest seating. Standard 7.4L gas engines will cruiser the Carver 390 Cockpit MY at 17 knots and 26-27 knots top.
