Macgregor 26C built and launched in 1992 complete with road trailer. This is the sailing version and has the smaller engine that preceded the 26X which had the centre console and 50hp engine. Large and comfortable accommodation, good level of equipment and well maintained during current ownership. Draft is only a foot with the keel up making her easy to launch and retrieve and allows exploration of our shallower rivers and creeks.
Ideal first boat for those with a young family looking to get afloat without spending a fortune.

GRP constructed yacht in white gel coat. Moulded non slip decks and large self bailing cockpit. Pivoting centre board keel deduces the draft making her easier to launch and retrieve. Water ballast system on hull operated by a valve. On launch the valve is opened allowing 1,200 Lbs. of water on board. This operation is reversed on retrieval. This allows the average family car to tow the boat negating the need to purchase a 4x4.
The 26C has more of a sailing boat hull and has the tiller with kick back rudder arrangement.
Anchor well forward
Mooring bollard on foredeck
Large cockpit locker
Stainless steel push and pulpit rails
You may have seen the more recent MacGregor models such as the 26X or 26M. These have centre consoles with wheel steering and large outboard engines. This model is the 26C and has the more modest and practical Mercury 9.9 4-stroke model. This provides plenty of power and will push against most states of tide and conditions to be encountered around our shore lines.
The engine was replaced in 2004 and has been regularly maintained. The single lever engine control in the cockpit increase ease of handling and manoeuvrability. 12V battery fitted with isolator recharged from the engine alternator and solar panel.
Sails and Rigging
The boat is designed as a trailerable sailor and thus has a very easily handled mast. The brochure states that this can be done by a child. This is of aluminium and deck stepped. Stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running rigging. All lines are led aft for ease to helm.
Sails are in good order and include a mainsail and furling genoa. These are made by Seateach and are only 7 years old.
Accommodation and layout
Voluminous interior that can sleep up to 6 people. The accommodation is accessed from the cockpit via the sliding hatch. This can be cleverly raised to allow extra ventilation and light on nice days.
Two steps and you are in the main saloon. Immediately aft under the cockpit sole is a full width double berth. There are two settees/berths port and starboard and on the forward half bulkhead is the galley area with 2 burner gas hob and sink with fresh water faucet.
Behind the bulkhead and in its separate compartment is the heads with chemical toilet and storage netting.
In the bow is the forepeak double berth with opening deck head hatch for ventilation. The fabric is warm velour in green/grey material. All flooring is carpeted for comfort.
Well equipped yacht that comes complete with single axle road trailer. Also included are:
Depth sounder and speed log
Warps and Fenders
