X-Yachts X-119

This X-119 has been both cruised and raced with good results by her present owner. She has been dry sailed from new, and the hull condition is remarkably good for her age. She has a non-standard deep winged keel designed by David Thomas. The interior is, for a competitive racing boat, really quite civilised, with mahogany and white laminate joinery, and twin aft cabins.

Like all X-Yachts, she was designed in-house by Niels Jeppesen, and has the usual X-yacht quality hull construction including steel and aluminum subframes bonded into the composite hull with Divinycell core and unidirectional S-glass and kevlar reinforcement.

She has a big double spreader fractional rig with rod rigging and running backstays. The original standard torpedo keel on this yacht has been replaced with a slightly deeper and more efficient deep winged fin designed by Stephen Jones - several X-119s have had this modification.

She has two sets of mainsail and No 1 genoa, from North Sails in 2007, and another new set from Ultimate Sails in 2011. As well as other headsails, she has a 2010 spinnaker and a 2008 Code 0 asymmetric.

In her present ownership she has completed seven Fastnet races, and regularly achieved top three places in RORC and JOG events. She is for sale now as the owner is looking to move to a more definitely cruising-orientated boat - though still a fast one!
