This famous for sea keeping 44’ Mount Desert Island hull by Bunny Leonard was custom built for the current owner (And the only captain) by Wilbur Yachts in the Mecca of Downeast boat building, Southwest Harbor, Maine. She has been fresh water used (Last 10 years) and stored in a heated shed (Each and every year). We proudly offer this boat for sale to the discriminating buyer that wants a true Downeast boat (Above and below the waterline) with classic fit and finish that Wilbur Yachts has built a reputation on.

Downeast hull designs are known for their soft, dry ride. They ride at relatively flat angles at all speed ranges. The keel that gives protection to the propeller and rudder provide steady tracking in windy conditions. Downeast boats are often custom built boats and lend themselves to be easily redesigned to meet a new owner’s needs. Due to the nature of custom built boats they can cost more than a production boat but remember the bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
