We are very pleased to present a special BCC! This 1991 Bristol Channel Cutter that we know very well because we owned her for six years of her life and we refit her extensively and cruised to the Bahamas, Florida, and even throughout the Okeechobee Waterway in Florida. What fun! This cruise was definitely the most fun adventure sailing we ever had. Much of that experience had to do with this special vessel.

First of all the BCC is a totally unique, little, stout traditional sailing vessel. While they are so functional and so perfect for a solo sailor that many people have sailed them really far, you quickly see that they are also a brilliant work of art. If you appreciate fine art and craftsmanship, you know what we mean. Those of you reading this are probably familiar with the Bristol Channel Cutter, the beautiful Lyle Hess design based on the old English Pilot Cutter workboats.

Our special offering is hull #95 launched in Annapolis in 1991. Her first owner who is still a little sorry he sold her cherished her. She had been lightly cruised in the late nineties, but was still pristine and very basic. We bought her in 2000, and in '04 & '05 we did a complete refit that included a new epoxy bottom, new standing rigging, new running rigging, new electronics, new batteries, new furling gear, and Port Townsend Sails. We went crazy and did everything we possibly could to prepare for the cruise South! We had a great time with many adventures. We left Annapolis aboard Aloha December 6th in a snowstorm and made our way south going inside and hopping outside when winter permitted. What a wonderful adventures and all great fun!

We sold her in 2006 and she became Talaris! Her new owner was equally good to her and adventurous sailing non-stop from Annapolis to New England in November of 2006 and then in recent years he sailed the boat lightly and continued to care for her. Talaris has been well maintained and upgraded always.

Talaris was sold in 2015 to a very close friend and three-time boat buyer of RogueWave. This well to do California native and physician always had the dream of sailing his boat back to San Diego via the Panama Canal. So, after spending well over $100,000 documented dollars on her all within the last year and a half, to prepare her for this journey; things change. They always do.

So, now ex-Aloha, ex-Talaris, now Alcyone is a turnkey go now 100% complete world voyager, one that we know and love. She would make a wonderful voyager for someone that has been dreaming forever. Now it’s your turn to take your dream and turn it into reality.

The years thunder by, the dreams of youth grow dim where they lie caked in dust on the shelves of patience. Before we know it, the tomb is sealed. Where, then, lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
