Hunter 28

This "FRESH WATER"  Hunter 28 is ready and waiting for her new owner. Hopefully "KNOT ON LINE" can fulfill your sailing dreams for now and years to come. Read below about the features and you will close in for a closer look.   

Currently cosmetics are in the process of being TOTALLY improved.  Moved to our yard the first week of February, we have buffed and starbrited the sides of the boat and have begun the process of improving the underbody.  The boat as of 2/17/2012 has been totally stripped down to gelcote on underbody and a full West System Epoxy membrane is about to be installed.  Similar work is proceeding on the Keel and the rudder.   We have photos of all work before, during and after.  

When we are finished with the entire "reconditioning", we will have a boat that will virtually need NO WORK or improvement - - unless you would  like us to install built-in Air Conditioning.   She will include a new sailcover, new bimini covering, and new UV for the headsail.  All teak is being totally refinished on the exterior and the interior, which is respectable to start with will have additional teak oil after cleaning.   This will be one VERY  DESIRABLE  Hunter 28 !!!

As of 3/24/2012 we have completed the 9 coat epoxy effort on the underbody.   Please see photos shown above that will march you through the work that has been accomplished.  Further we have preped the sides for new Imron Navy waterline stripe and a new navy shear stripe.  When finished we doubt that you will be able to find a more suitable Hunter 28 ANYWHERE.  And this is a FRESHWATER BOAT - - NOT a saltwater boat !!

      
One of the best 28' sailboats ever designed with a healthy 10'6" beam & with a large aluminum toe rail this boat is easy to move around on and has much better stability (less healing) than most boat in this range. She has very good stability.  The Hunter 28 can be handled by one fairly easily, yet delivers a fast sporty performance level. With the wheel steering, diesel power, rollerfurler headsail, marine head, large interior, very large double aft berth and bigger than normal head/shower, you'll find that the parameters of the Hunter 28 meet or exceed your expectations. Maybe she is only 28 feet, but she seems as big as lots of 30's - - just more manageable!
