GRP constructed yacht with long keel and counter hung rudder with tiller steering. Boat draws 0.90M with the centre board raised and 1.52M when lowered. This operation is very easy due to the electric winch.
Smart black simulated clinker topsides with contrasting off white superstructure. Large self draining cockpit with raised coamings and wooden grate to cockpit sole. Aft deck with locker storage and mizzen mast. Raised coachroof to give accommodation height. Handed boathook storage mounted on either side of the coachroof for easy deployment. Foredeck with electric windlass and spurn pipe for chain. Anchors mounted on foredeck for easy deployment.
Vessel powered by a very economical Yanmar 1GM10 inboard diesel engine. This is situated beneath the companionway steps in a sound proofed compartment. All parts of the engine required for daily checks and servicing are mounted at the front making the task that more easier. Engine start panel situated at companionway adjacent to the switch panel and remote greaser for the stern tube. Single lever engine control in cockpit adjacent to the tiller for easy manoeuvring. Engine has had little use and has been maintained by the present owner.
Bank of two, 12V batteries fitted with isolators. These provide engine start and domestic power and are recharged via the engine alternator. These are handily situated behind a removable panel in the heads.
Sails and Rigging
Yawl rigged yacht with deck stepped silver spruce spars, boom and bowsprit. Stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running rigging. All lines are led aft to cockpit keeping the decks clear and uncluttered. Gaff operated mainsail and roller furling headsail and mizzen sail to rear.
All sails are the traditional tan colour and made by Rockall. The UV strip and luff on the genoa have been replaced. The mainsail, genoa and mizzen are protected by sail covers.
Accommodation and layout
Accommodation below decks is good and has a sensible layout. The boat can sleep 5 persons with a raised double in the forepeak, two singles in the saloon and a further single in the pilot/quarter berth. The interior is a blend of cedar, teak and painted surfaces giving a traditional yet warm feel. The vessel is fitted with Eberspacher heating which extends the sailing season and keeps the boat warm and dry.
Two steps from the cockpit lead down into the main cabin. Immediately to port is the large heads compartment with sea toilet. This can double as a wet locker to keep the saloon free of wet clothing . There is a removable panel in the rear bulkhead which gives access to the cockpit seat and is handy for storing bulky, occasional use items. Opposite the heads is the large chart table with the aforementioned quarter berth behind.
Forward of the heads is the galley with gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and grill. There is storage for crockery and cutlery behind the cooker and lockers for provisions above. The chart table is opposite and doubles as a handy preparation area. The sink is part of the chart table and features hand pumped fresh water faucet. Good storage area beneath the sink.
The settee/berths are situated either side of the central table which has drop leaves. Lots of storage beneath the forward berth and under the two settee berths in the saloon.
