Jade Diver was originally built in Louisiana by Halter Marine(US Marine) for a Greek cruise line as one of ten dive boats (Ocean Quest series). These boats were constructed to be davit-ed with customers aboard, as the cruise ship was underway leaving the area. The original davits were heavy enough to support the weight. An air fill system existed to fill the tanks on board the vessel but was removed. The original engine was a Volvo 200 hp diesel with a duo-prop outdrive (aluminum blades). It has been updated with a Yanmar YNR 6LP-STZE 315 HP, 6 cylinder, diesel engine package with Mercruiser Bravo II outdrive. Click on full specs for additional information.

Construction and Layout
Fiberglass construction, model bow, curved stem, modified V-bottom, square stern. Open bow deck followed by open cockpit well deck aft to stern. Control station center forward at cockpit deck, fixed seating and safety rail along port and starboard sides. Walk through transom with teak wood swim platform across transom with large aluminum swim ladder. Fiberglass top wth plastic side curtains and Lexan windshield. Area under bow has anchor line storage and shelved starage area(with collision bulkhead sperating the two areas).

Diver and Operator Friendly Vessel
The reasons the boat was/is 'customer dive friendly':
• the room it had for the divers to walk around a bit.
• The walk-through transom.
• the ease of getting into the water from the back deck, with or without scuba gear.
• the ease of getting back aboard the boat due to the ladder, with or without scuba gear. '
Owner friendly' reasons:
• the fuel economy: four hour trip approximately 15 gallons diesel (100 gallon tank – approx little over 1/8th of a tank per 4 hour trip)
• Ease in vessel maneuvering/handling.
• Ease of entering the water / reboarding the vessel, with or without scuba gear.

Jade Diver has never had a COI. She was originally used in the Mediterranean and did not require one. She has been run as a 6-pac since returning to the states.
