This Bill Shaw design has two staterooms plus a very spacious salon--very unususal for a 36 footer. The New England quality build will deliver both performance and comfort for many years to come. The tall, double-spreader rig, inboard genoa tracks and large sail plan offer good performance in light air. The 12' 6" beam offers stability as well as a large living area with a two-stateroom layout. The Pearson 36 gives you the room you need to enjoy cruising. The teak interior and varnished teak and holly sole create a yachty and comfortable feel. "Grateful" is a great sailboat which gives pleasure to a couple or family. The layout of the cockpit, wide side decks, and comfortable cabin all contribute to the usability of this Bill Shaw design.

With a completely functional layout, the Pearson 36 is a comfortable cruiser that does not sacrifice performance. Everything about this vessel is well thought out to provide comfort and performance. As you enter the companionway, the spacious galley is to starboard complete with double sinks, two burner propane stove and oven, and top-loading refrigerator. There is handy space to store your foulies in a wet locker to port. The aft stateroom, accessed on the starboard side through the galley, is a very large double, and provides a comfortable sea berth underway. Opening ports and hatch supply fresh air. The head is located aft on the port side of the companionway. A large, functional chart table is to port, forward of the head. this is handy to the cockpit, yet is out of the way of the galley.
There is a U-shaped settee/dinette that comfortably seats six people on the starboard side. This dinette also forms a luxurious double berth, and an ample settee to port compliments this arrangement. Both of the settees have ample stowage below. The bone ultra suede upholstery creates a rich interior and is in great condition. The V-berth includes an oversize hanging locker and a large "liquor locker" as stated in the original brochure. There's ample ventilation provided by three opening hatches and eight opening ports. It is easy to see that much thought was given to the layout of this boat to offer comfort underway and at anchor without compromising the sailing characteristics.
The galley is designed to support your racing needs as well as provide a workable "kitchen" when you decide to cruise. The galley area is spacious providing room at the foot of the companionway. The double sink is always useful underway and at anchor. Hot and cold pressure water makes cooking and cleanup a snap and with the 100-gallon capacity, you do not have to scrimp. The two-burner propane stove and oven gives you all you need to cook anything you want and the 8-cubic foot refrigerator has molded shelves that make stow and retrieval an easy task. This galley is large enough to make entertaining easy.
