SONIA LOURDES' interior is being treated to make her head and shoulders above other similar vintage NT 32's. The entire boat is served by reverse cycle air conditioning and heat. Also there is engine driven heat (which is currently not connected), to serve the boat when underway.
This is the most popular of the Nordic Tugs 32 layouts, available very early on. The forward cabin features a very comfortable offset double berth, with custom mattress, to starboard with bench seat opposite, overhead hatch, opening ports, and hanging locker.
Aft of the stateroom and to starboard is the head, with toilet, sink/shower, vanity, and storage. Opposite the head and adjacent to the stairs to the pilothouse is another generous storage space/locker.
The pilothouse features the helm console to starboard, and storage/counter space to port. Pilothouse side doors on either side provide access to spring cleats and to the bow and side decks. Excellent visibility and ventiliation make this an ideal operating station.
The pilothouse also features a custom convertible pilot berth on the starboard side. It converts to make a wider than standard berth.
Moving aft and a few more steps down, we find the salon and galley, with galley forward and stretching to starboard, and the L shaped convertible settee and dinette table aft and to port. These are larger than typical, allowing for more space for eating/lounging and for guests to sleep.
This area also features large size above deck windows, so you can watch the scenery go by without being exposed to the elements. This is the way to cruise!

Nordic Tugs 32 design allows for easy access to the bow from pilothouse doors on either side. The cockpit is accessed through the aft door in the salon, or via side decks with two level handrails on either side.
SONIA LOURDES has canvas to shade the cockpit, effectively increasing the living area and making the cockpit a pleasant and protected seating area. Of course the canvas can be stowed if you'd prefer to have some sun. There is no dinghy or outboard included, but the weaver davit system is installed to keep the dinghy against the transom. SONIA LOURDES' swim platform, in addition to allowing for in and out of the water, provides easy dinghy boarding, and also boarding of SONIA LOURDES from astern. Storage is available in the cockpit box and lazarette.
The salon coach roof area provides space for storage at the dock and underway. This area also houses Nordic Tugs's emblematic decorative "stack." SONIA LOURDES boasts a unique swivel stack to allow for better bridge clearance.
At the bow you will find substantial stainless steel rails all around, two bow cleats (to complement the midship and stern cleats), and samson post. SONIA LOURDES has the optional anchor roller to keep her anchor and rode.
Pilothouse side doors are teak and glass (2008). SONIA LOURDES has canvas covers for all doors and pilothouse glass, which saves a ton of maintenance.
SONIA LOURDES' galley runs along the forward end of the aft living area and into the starboard side of that area. She's got everything you need for extensive cruising, including fridge/freezer, stovetop, microwave/convection, stainless steel sink, and abundant storage!
The galley is relatively low, but not separated from the rest of the living area, and not "down below" by any means. It's easy to access the galley while running, and also very convenient to bring in provisions- right inside the aft door, or just around the corner from the pilothouse doors.
The Cummins 6BTA5.9M series faithfully served the Nordic Tugs 32 model for over two decades. This is the perfect engine for this semi-displacement design, providing excellent fuel economy at displacement speeds, and also an available top speed in the mid teens.
SONIA LOURDES is capable of consistent cruising speeds of 12-14 kts, at 2200-2300 RPM
SONIA LOURDES has had extensive maintenance and service to her Cummins engine, including recent replacement of all internal and external wear parts: pumps, hoses, etc. Plus she has a new turbo and a new exhaust riser. All of this work was completed by Cummins service technicians. With a little less than 100 hours per season on average, the engine has not been overused, and yet has not been neglected at all. She will provide decades of future service and should be considered extremely dependable. This is a real advantage to this boat.
The Northern Lights generator is a 2007, and is just broken in at about 130 hours total use.
The sellers have also installed a very simple fuel cleaning system. It uses a 12v pump to run the fuel through the filter and returns it straight back into the tank.
The mechanics on this boat are a solid 10/10.
