L. Francis Herreshoff was partial to the advantages of comparatively shallow draft designs. To compensate for this, he employed longer waterlines, easily driven body plans and sensible, moderate-sized rigs and sail plans. SK 1 was the first Stuart Knockabout off the mold in fiberglass and was owned by the owner of the company. She has been very well cared for, kept and maintained at Ballentine's Boat Shop. Recent additional maintenance has included painting the spars and replacing all running rigging. Her sails are in good shape and include a jib and cockpit cover. Included in her sale is also a 2002 custom Triad Trailer in very good shape and a winter storage cover. BUCCANEER is currently located at Ballentine's Boat Shop and is available for viewing with an appointment.
