The DOUBLE DE is a Very Special 48’ Ocean Super Sport. I have known this boat since it was nearly new and the first owner employed LOST RIVER MARINE in Stuart, FL., to customize his boat. The original owner wanted a Distinctive Yacht. LOST RIVE MARINE did a fabulous job. Custom changes include, but not limited to; extended Flybridge to allow walk-around room behind helm chair, custom pipes to support the factory hardtop (replaced the stainless steel), extended and reshaped the aft end of the deck house (pilasters), replaced the Flybridge deck mounted ladder with an aluminum “angled “ FB ladder mounted on the end of the cockpit unit nearest the salon door and enclosed the entrance thru the FB deck, the teak deck has been removed and painted non-skid replaces it, a teak toe rail of greater dimensions replaced the factory original toe rail, a custom low profile bow rail (mounted on the deck rather than on the toe rail) replaced the original stainless steel unit, additional aluminum grab rails were strategically added to the exterior of the boat for safety, the original teak covering boards have been replaced, a teak transom was installed and much more. Subsequent owners had continued to update and customize this very special yacht. The current owner has continued have Repowered the DOBLE DE with NEW Cummins QS electronic motors in 2008. Now the DOBLE DE, effortlessly cruises at 27kts and tops out at 31kts, something the originally 6-71TIB powered boats did not. If you are looking for a “cheap project boat” this IS NOT the boat.
