"Mixmaster" is a Custom Built Knight Brothers Enclosed Flybridge Sportfish with a solid hand laid-up fiberglass hull and fiberglass over solid bottom growth cypress superstructure.Bulkheads and framing timbers are cypress. The high quality interior joinery is solid teak. This custom U.S. built yacht was constructed to last forever at a cost approaching $1 million in 1988! Teak and holly sole. "Mixmaster" also features "seamless windows", which are common now, but unique in 1988, and the glass is 3/8" tempered glass(not laminate "safety" glass), and is practically bullet proof! Fiberglass fuel tanks located aft of the engines instead of outboard allows easy access to outboard sides of both engines. Boat was built for serious fishing with transom steeply raked to back down on large fish and to provide clearance at the transom. Running gear is further forward to prevent fouling lines when fish are being close handled. Vessel has keel extension deeper than propellers to avoid damage to running gear in the event of grounding. Two watertight bulkheads, all three compartments are watertight; (lazarrtette, engine space, and bow compartment). Hard chained, wide beam, and deep keel makes for excellent seakeeping qualities as well as live-baiting.
"Mixmaster" was originally built for a Boca Grande couple and named "Mi Lady Fe", the present owner purchased and renamed the vessel in 1998. With only two owners since new it is clear this vessel has been well regarded by each. The present owner has a well known diesel and marine services business in Ft. Lauderdale and "Mixmaster" has been very well cared for and upgraded throughout his ownership.
The Knight Brothers have a long family tradition of building seakindly sportfish which will stand the test of time.
Knight Brothers boats:
Boat building has been a Knight family tradition for more than 100 years. Capt. Johns Knight Jr. said he has read in local history books that his forefathers’ boats were being used in Charlotte Harbor as far back as the 1880s.
In 1946, Knight’s father, Johns Sr., along with brothers Harold and Francis, continued the family tradition by building custom tarpon boats for the local anglers.
Moonraker and Moonraker II, two of the island’s more famous traditional Pass fishing boats, are still owned by the Knight family. Casuarina and Faithful II, another two recognizable Knight Brothers built boats also still work the Pass and are operated by Capt. Dickie Coleman, Capt. Charlie Coleman and Capt. Matt Coleman. "Mixmaster" is a truly one off custom yacht that was built from the mold of "Moonraker", a famous Knight Brothers Sportfish that continues to fish the Florida West Coast today although it is twenty years older than "Mixmaster".
This yacht has only had two owners; the first owner had the vessel custom built to their specifications and spared no expense to get what is a great cruising/fishing yacht that is economical to operate and built to last. The second and present owner has had the vessel for 12 years. He owns a well known diesel engine and general marine repair facility in Ft. Lauderdale and he has continually maintained and upgraded the vessel to a high standard. A real "turn-key" boat, the seller will stand behind any survey issues.
The Company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel. A buyer should instruct his agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated.
