As soon as you step aboard the enormous swim platform you can see the complete customisation this boat has been through. The extended swim platform has rollers to haul out and carry a jet ski, the sumptuous interior with its custom high gloss teak and Italian leather were all installed during the extensive refit in 2002/2003. This 42 offers the best example around in a used boat of its class, it is the finest example of a custom fitted Bertram. Not only is it well built, but the overall design achieves its purpose of creating a first rate fishing platform with decent amenities. With a 14-10 beam and a well laid out saloon and a custom bar, the space has been well used. The bridge layout is good, and the cockpit has plenty of space. If you know Bertram’s you will know how they're built, and know that they really are tough cookies. These hull laminates are no thicker than anybody else's, but it is the engineering expertise - often utterly lacking in so many others - that makes the difference. There aren't a lot of boats of this age that are really worth spending some money on, but this 42 definitely is, with its low hours and an excellent maintenance schedule and luxurious refit any keen Bertram buyer will be impressed at time of inspection.
