One of the most popular yacht designers Robert H. Perry’s, best cruising designs. This double ender TASHIBA 36’ was built by "Tashing" one of the world’s best ship builders and has the room that most 40 footers only wish to have. Introduced in 1986, the Tashiba 36 is one of the last of the full keel double-enders by designer Bob Perry; he considers them his best… we think so, too!. The boat shares many of the innovations Perry made with his Baba 40 design which he evolved further to produce a boat with traits all sailors love. The resulting full keel with cutaway forefoot design, produced a boat that sailed incredibly well; fast and close winded enough to challenge many fin keel designs. They are fast, close-winded, stiff, and well balanced and with an “at home” beautiful and functional interior, that many have described as “the interior of the boat is like a piece of fine furniture”.
Her four foot six draft makes her perfect for cruising the Bahamas, and the East coast of the U.S., including the much desired cruising grounds of the Chesapeake. Of all the cruising boats that actually go somewhere, Robert Perry designs, win the prize. Easily single handed or sailed by a couple, this modern double ended cruiser will perform with the best of them, giving exhilarating performance with the ultimate in blue water capability, or you can simply enjoy life elegantly, at the yacht club dock. ‘ORIENTAL MUSICIAN’ is the yacht you have been searching for and holds dreams that you can make come true!
‘ORIENTAL MUSICIAN’ is a beautiful timeless yachts of quality, character and substance and she is an excellent blue water cruising boat with solid construction.

ACCOMODATIONS AND LAYOUT
Headroom is 6’4” or better, throughout the boat and storage capacity can only be noted as “incredible”. Beautiful teak joinery throughout, all doors are beveled, hand fitted and vented, and the glossy varnished cabin sole is teak and holly plank. The interior is finished with a hand rubbed satin varnish. The overhead throughout is a white varnished staving with laminated teak battens and teak overhead safety grab rails.
“ORIENTAL MUSICIAN” sleeps up to five people in accommodations with the forward cabin, main salon and quarter berth. The forward cabin design is a signature of the Tashing 36’ and incorporates a forward vented chain locker access door, large berth with custom mattress, drawers and locker under, a dressing teak bench that also doubles as a step up to the berth, hanging locker, and shelving. Overhead is a large opening teak hatch, outboard are 2 opening screened ports and the forward cabin top has an additional opening and screened port, all of which makes for excellent ventilation and light. The forward cabin is separated from the rest of the boat, by a beautiful varnished teak door with air vented bottom louvers and a classic Tashiba arched upper door, which gives privacy to couples forward and in the main salon areas.
Next aft to starboard is the large head with a roomy molded in, one piece shower stall with molded in seat. There is a teak grate and teak and large storage cabinet outboard with louvered teak doors. The head has a bulkhead mounted medicine cabinet with mirrored door, trimmed in teak, 2 outboard storage cabinets with louvered teak doors, a marble countertop with oval stainless steel sink and hot and cold pressure water. There are 2 teak storage doors outboard of the sink, next to the manual head. There is an additional opening port, overhead teak trimmed light and teak trimmed ventilator.
Opposite the head and to port, is a large full length hanging locker with louvered teak door. Amidships is the main salon which features an “L” shaped settee to starboard and overhead lighting. There is a beautiful teak table with a “star burst” pattern on top with cabinet under with a louvered teak door. Extensive storage outboard, port and starboard with louvered teak doors and behind seat back cushions. A full settee is opposite on the starboard side. Above is a classic large, two-way opening “Butterfly” hatch for light and ventilation. Settees are a dark Hunter Green, which compliments the boat décor, inside and out.
Aft of the main salon and to starboard, is the classic “wrap around” “U” shape configured, offshore safe galley, that will delight the gourmet, whether at sea or dockside, with drawers, extensive louvered lockers, large dry storage bin, and large, refrigeration freezer which has both, top opening access and a front loading opening door, for complete and easy access. The refrigerator and freezer have large capacity plates and operates on both 110V with shore power or generator. There are 2-deep stainless steel sinks, fully gimbaled stove and generous counter space.
Directly across from the galley, to port, is a proper offshore, forward facing navigation station and chart table with tremendous room for an exceptional compliment of navigation and electronic equipment for easy use while navigating. The large nav table/desk has a generous storage locker under the desk top and room for the additional electronic navigation and communication equipment outboard. Outboard is an additional opening port for excellent cross ventilation with the galley and Nav area along with an aft opening port. Just aft of the nav station is the quarter berth. On center is the companionway, with wet locker and access to the engine.
There are 13 bronze opening ports, most with screens and 2 opening deck hatches, and the companionway hatch, which provides a tremendous amount of light and superior cross ventilation. All the ports have been removed and retrofitted with shatter-proof glass, then all were re-bedded with caulking used on skyscraper buildings on their windows.
