From the original Ericson 28 brochure
The Ericson 28 is the perfect blending of advanced design with high-tech construction methods to create a beautifully styled, yet absolutely efficient performance cruiser. For example, a harmony of design is achieved by giving the Erickson 28 a low, sleek profile which in turn helps create a low center of gravity for improved performance. Still, interior headroom of 6’1” shows no sign of compromise.
The Erickson 28 boasts abundant storage space, and accommodations for five. Lavish teak joinery work crafted to exacting tolerances. The main saloon features twin settees. The starboard settee slides out to make a double 6’6” birth. For dining, there’s a bulkhead mounted table with extension leaf to accommodate seating on both settees.
There are storage shelves behind the seat backs, a hanging locker with shelf above, and a boot locker. There’s even a liquor storage rack on the main bulkhead. The L shaped galley features a stainless steel sink, a two burner gimbaled alcohol stove with the chopping block, tilt up counter extension, 5 ft.³ insulated ice box, large storage lockers, tilt out utility part compartment, dish locker, and food locker extending the full length of the galley.
Topside, the cockpit is T shaped and has a contoured Helms seat. The fractional rig design has a higher ratio of sail area to wetted surface making the Ericson 28 and exceptional all-around performer.
