The cabin layout in the Cape Dory 30 Mark II is very spacious for a traditional vessel of her size.
The forward cabin has roomy v-berths port and starboard with lockers below and shelves above. There are two opening ports and a large overhead hatch for excellent ventilation.
Next aft to starboard is a very spacious head area. A separate shower stall area is included as well as a vanity with sink and a marine toilet and holding tank. The head was re-built in 2011.
The main cabin has settee / berths port and starboard, with the starboard berth able to convert to a double. A dining table folds down from the starboard bulkhead. There are 4 opening ports with curtains and screens. Teak and holy cabin sole, ash ceiling strips outboard of the berths, and a rich teak interior.
The galley is aft to port. The stove is a 2 burner Origo non-pressurized alcohol stove with an oven. The ice box has a Sea Frost 12 volt refrigeration system which was new in 2011. Hot and cold pressure water at the double sinks, and ample locker space completes the galley.
To starboard is a quarter berth. There is a removable table top above it as a chart table, and electronics are mounted in this area.
Both overhead hatches were removed, re-built and re-installed in 2012. There is a solar vent, a brass hurricane lamp, brass clock and tide clock (2012) and many other additions and replacements of fixtures throughout the warm, comfortable cabin.
