This boat was designed by John Simpson from J Simpson LTD. Marine in Delta, B.C. Canada in early 80's for NW Pacific cruising on a modified hull design that allows efficient trawler speeds of 8 knots but also allows for speeds in 12 to 14 knot range to cruise the heavy current waters of NW. Original design was for a 43' that got stretched to 46' and than 50' with cockpit. Bestway Industries in Kaohsiung, Taiwan built these boats to high standards and strict quality control. About 250 boats were built by Bestway from about 1982 to 1992 when they closed. Early boats went by name Labelle trawlers.
