Sleeps 8 in 4 cabins, 3 crew cabins sleeps 6 crew.
Originally conceived by and built, for former Treasury Secretary William Simon, FREEDOM set the standard for the many near sisters that followed her launching. However she stands alone in terms of her spaciousness and distinctive interior configuration. She has excelled as a sailboat, having won both the very competitive St. Bart’s and Nantucket Bucket race series while enjoying with strong finishes in other events including the annual Shipyard Cup.
From June 2003 into January of 2004, she underwent a top of the mast to bottom of her keel bow to stern extensive refit that included a full paint job, hull and spars, at the McMullen & Wing Yard in Auckland, NZ. Every electrical, mechanical and operating system was inspected upgraded, repaired or replaced as needed. Generators were replaced, not rebuilt and her drive train from the engine aft was completely renewed with the latest system from Hundestad. The main engine was removed from the boat for a run on a dynamometer before being reinstalled using new LoRez mountings and couplings. In 2007 she wintered in Palma when she was again looked after with anything that needed attention.
In 2011 she was sold to an experienced hands on yachtsman who managed her many upgrades along with completing a detailed Buyer’s survey list. Due to a change in the owner’s plans the boat is back on the market for a new proud owner.
A yacht that has been fortunate to enjoy committed and caring owners, she is capable and has circled the globe. A great family/private yacht, she has developed a loyal following on the occasions when available on the charter market, making for a mix of a business or pleasure yacht.
Richly furnished and using the full beam of the yacht and encircled by large side windows to provide an expansive view of the surroundings. Large dinning area and table with U shaped settee aft and to port, and forward of which is the entertainment center with pop up TV. Opposite on starboard is a very comfortable sitting area in a U shaped arrangement of sofas. Centerline aft are stairs up to the pilothouse or down and aft to the guest and master cabins. Forward is access to the galley and crew area. Outboard beneath the side decks is plentiful amounts of storage space.
Fitted out in teak with a teak and holly sole. Five forward facing aluminum framed widows, port & starboard drop down side windows along with aft windows, some of which also drop down provide excellent 360 degree visibility. Directly in front of the wheel are the yachts operating and control systems with navigation gear and a nav area, with chart drawers, outboard to port. Above the helm is extensive array of monitors including a very complete systems alarm monitor. Split by the doorway to the cockpit/aft deck area, port and starboard cushioned seating with storage beneath lines the aft bulkhead.
Forward to starboard with its own entry is a special space on a yacht of this size. It is a full working office with desk, lots of storage/file drawers, communication access and internet capable. An L-shaped settee converts into additional sleeping space.
Located at the end of the aft passageway, it is generous in scale with a new king sized centerline bed with drawers beneath. Flanking are port and starboard nightstands outboard of which are full length hanging lockers. The port forward corner offers a custom fashioned sitting area, convertible to a child berth if needed. Inboard is a generous walk in wardrobe. A vanity makes up the starboard side, just aft of the Master Head, where a bathtub and separate large shower are fitted along with heated towel racks (in all heads). Overhead hatches and opening ports provide natural light and ventilation, while an escape hatch is available for emergency exit from the suite.

Opposite to port are two identical cabins comprised of twin berths with drawer storage below and night stand between, and a large hanging locker. Each cabin has its own ensuite head with stall shower.
There is no more used or enjoyed area onboard than this area. Undercover, with drop down side curtains, are two seating areas that can be used separately or together. A large U shaped settee is to port with straight settee along the starboard side. Two crafted teak tables, which can drop down to cocktail height and swivel, are located in each of these spaces, for outside dinning.
