Showing Instructions Please note that all of our vessels are shown by prior appointment ONLY! We ask that that you give us at least 24 hours notice (even more if possible) by email or phone before you wish to see one of our boats. That way we can be sure and block out some time for you to see the boat! We do not want to arrive to an empty office because we are out showing a boat to your neighbor! Many of our boats are kept off-site & sometimes we can meet you at the marina/yard where the boat is located, or nearby and save you time traveling to Portside Yacht Brokers unnecessarily. We look forward to hearing from you!

The accommodations of the MASON 44 have been designed to afford function and comfort offshore, as well as at dockside. This yacht is a splendid combination of traditional craftsmanship and design, with modern materials and workmanship. She can sleep 4 in 2 staterooms, plus up to 2 in the main saloon.
All interior joinery is solid teak staving, satin varnished. (Most of the later boats used a teak veneer for the bulkheads.) She has laminated teak and light wood overhead beams, complemented by white formica overhead panels and cabin sides that make for a clean, light and attractive interior. Her hanging lockers are lined in camphor wood (except wet locker) and all have auto-lights. Ventilation in the boat is superb -- 13 opening s/s ports (with screens), 5 dorade vents and 4 upgraded Goiot deck hatches and companionway hatch (also with screens). She has custom upholstery fabrics throughout, 5" berth cushions for both state rooms. The cabin sole is varnished teak and holly and there is an additional grab rail in the main salon.
Starting forward, the guest stateroom has a double berth located along the port side, a 5" mattress, bulkhead mounted mirror, bookshelves, and storage in lockers, with louvered doors, fitted outboard along the port and starboard hull sides. There is a hanging locker, with louvered teak door, to starboard and a teak bifold door separating this cabin from the main salon. Teak staving along exposed hull sides adds a finishing touch to these roomy and attractive guest quarters
Head is aft to port, has a separate stall shower with seat, a back up fresh water foot pump, overhead hatch/screen, an opening port and marble countertops around sink.
Main Salon features a large, and comfortable U-shaped settee to port and a pull-out settee to starboard. The teak dining table is mounted on a bronze hi-lo pedestal and will seat 6 for meals. There are large, deep, storage compartments behind the seatbacks, and a pilot berth behind the starboard settee. Other features include high intensity reading lights, overhead lights throughout, red night lights at the cabin sole, an entertainment center, lockers with louvered doors and bookshelves, bulkhead mounted fans, a large oversized deck hatch with screen, opening ports with screens, and a pan with teak grate at the foot of the companionway to catch water.
Galley is U-shaped and located to port. It has double deep s/s sinks with butcher block sink covers, hot & cold pressure water, salt and fresh water back-up foot pumps, and fresh water spray for rinsing dishes, a 3-burner Mariner s/s gimballed propane stove with oven & broiler, 12V LPG safety shut-off switch, s/s protective bar with rings for galley strap hookup. Generous storage for the galley includes a large/deep cookware storage locker outboard of the sinks with countertop opening, (3) large lockers with louvered doors outboard, large locker under the galley sinks, a wide, deep locker under the stove for pans, trash locker, and (3) deep cutlery/silverware drawers. Custom features include a teak counter extension, additional locker shelving and the dish locker has been pegged to provide safe storage for the ship's china. The ice box/freezer chest has been enlarged, has Sea Frost 12V, water- cooled, cold-plate refrigeration and has both top and side door access.
Nav Station was factory modified for her owner. The navigation desk is outboard facing, located to starboard of the companionway, with a large, lift-top table, recessed electronics and a custom electrical panel. There is a swing-out, swivelling nav chair. Fuel gauges are built into the electrical panel. Aft of the chart table, to starboard, is the hanging wet locker, plus additional smaller lockers and open-shelf storage compartments.
Owner's Stateroom aft to port, has an appropriately oversized double- berth. There is generous storage in louvered lockers, an overhead bookshelf, bureau with mirror and drawers, and a large camphor-wood-veneer-lined hanging locker with light.

Deck & Hull
The vessel is fully bonded, properly grounded and lightning protected. She has a heavy-duty, teak rub rail with bronze half round striker. Several custom features include: (1) her hull to deck joint - this is constructed in the same way that the original Mason 43s were built, using full length stainless steel rebar to sandwich the fiberglass flanges of the deck and hull. This joint is bolted thru the rebar giving possibly the strongest hull to deck fastening in the industry. (2) There are 10 additional longitudinal stringers, custom built in, (3) 3/4" P/U foam insulation is encapsulated in the FRP layup. This is non structural and vastly improves liveaboard conditions below deck by virtually eliminating hull sweating/condensation and keeping the interior warm in winter or cool in summer. (4) When new, the hull was Imroned a dark green with a gold cove stripe and burgundy/gold boot top; (5) the bottom has been twice epoxy barrier-coated and has successfully prevented any bottom blistering to date. (6) Ordered with a 5'6" shoal draft, the ballast is lead, not the standard cast iron; (7) Custom internal scuppers prevent water streaking (zebra-ing) the hull topsides; (8) All deck hatches, including the companion way hatch, have been upgraded from wood to Goiot aluminum.
Decks are teak-planked with a cream/grey non-skid finish on the coach house. Mast and boom are Awlgripped "Dove Grey". Dorade boxes are varnished teak and have stainless steel ventilators.
