Moonshadow is a well equipped and nicely presented example of this popular 30' sloop from Gib'Sea. Designed by Jacques Fauroux and built by Gibert Marine in France the design is typical of those from the early and mid eighties. The designs are built to require minimal maintenance; with hardly any timber on deck, while providing good spacious accommodation for a family along with good performance under sail.
Ideally suited to family sailing the boat provides 6 good sized berths with the option of converting one saloon bunk to a cosy double. Benefitting from a comprehensive sail wardrobe from Saturn Sails and having had a complete new rig fitted in 2008 along with the new windows being fitted in 2010 the boat is offered for sale ready to go.

GRP moulded hull and deck, manufactured in the traditional style with hand lay-up laminate. Hull finished in white gelcoat with coloured boot top and shearband. Deck again finished in white gelcoat with moulded in non slip sections around foredeck, sides decks and cockpit.
New windows fitted in 2010 to replace original all perspex items complete with internal alloy frames.
Spars and Rigging
Twin spreader alloy mast with matching boom finished in silver anodising, manufactured by Z Spars, fitted new in 2008 completed with all standing and running rigging.
Below decks the layout is simple and functional, with plenty of space for a full crew and lots of natural light. The light upholstery (replaced in 2002) in contrast to the dark finish on the dark finish on the wood work helps to add to the feeling of space below decks.
The forepeak having just been fully re-lined has a fresh appearance and provides the traditional twin V-berth layout with an infill to create a good sized double. Large bin style lockers are below the berth creating lots of storage for sails and personal gear, in addition there is a reasonably sized hanging locker also.
With a centrally mounted drop leaf table the saloon is well sized to cater for a full crew eating below decks. The settees port and starboard create good sized single bunks with the port bunk converting to provide a compact double if required.
Immediately below the companionway, aft of the saloon is the Galley and chart table. Both are of a good size for a 30' for excellent storage provided.
The aft cabin is accessed through the galley area to port. With a large double berth the cabin makes good use of all available space and is unusually spacious for a boat of this size. Storage is again provided in a mixture of below bunk lockers and a small hanging locker.
The heads is situated aft of the chart table and again is spacious for a boat of this size. Finished with easy clean surfaces the heads is practical with a good provision of storage.
Volvo Penta 2002, twin cylinder diesel engine sited in dedicated engine space below companionway steps. Traditional shaft style stern gear with two blade folding Gori propellor.
Adverc battery management system fitted to engine alternator in 2004. Ships batteries both replaced in last 3 seasons.
