The simplified history of the Yacht
The Spirit of Newport started her life in 1986 in San Diego, CA, where she was fabricated out of steel by Sea Trec ship builders in South Bay. She was originally constructed to a shorter length of 65' and went by the name "Bourbon Cowboy". Her propulsion was designed for economy using rebuilt "Hummin Cummins" 903 Bus engines.
Later she returned to the Sea Trec shipyard for a completely designed and pre-fabricated rear cockpit and deck extension of 29' around 1990 bringing her to her current 94' (95" LOA) length. Her name was changed to the "Spirit of Newport" and she has made Newport Harbor her home for the last 23 years. Remaining under family ownership since built, she offers an excellent operational history with dedicated performance to the people of the surrounding communities.
Among her celebrated awards are the following Christmas Parade honors:
1994 "Mayor's Award"
1997 "Best Charter Boat"
2001 "Best Charter Boat"
2002 "Best Charter Boat"
1997 "2nd Place, Lights & Animation"
The charter opportunities for the "Spirit of Newport" are almost endless. She is USCG Certified for 149 passengers + 5 crew, in harbor and 20 miles offshore including Catalina. Her design is such that she can accommodate a wide variety of get togethers including:
Corporate Events -- Parties, Meetings, Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner Cruises, Employee Get Togethers, etc.
Wedding Events -- A favorite opportunity, mariage on the water with all your friends, and all dressed up.
Holiday Cheer -- Celebrate, New Years, Christmas, 4th of July or Cinco de Mayo while you enjoy the sights and excitement of Newport Harbor.
Special Events -- Birthdays, Graduations, Promotions, Engagements, Showers, Retirements, Sports Event Watching, or whatever makes you happy -- plan your event on The Spirit of Newport.
Whale Watching - Great viewing in the comforts of home or the open air upper deck. -- A southern California favorite.
Mechanical & Electronics Systems
The Buyers of the "Spirit of Newport" should include in their financial pro-forma for updating many of the vessels mechanical and electronics systems including re-powering the main engines. While the vessel is still reliable and in use on a daily basis, her Sellers realize that these systems are "old school" and have served her well for her first 25 years, but they are now dated and will want to be replaced to continue into her second 25 years. Accordingly, they have discounted her value from over $1 million to the current asking price of only $375,000.
Cummins 903 Turbo Diesel Engines
Northern Lights Generator
Back-up Generator (non-op)
Water System Pump
Waste System Pump
