The CS 30 was introduced in the mid 1980s, and it was an immediate hit with sailors who had outgrown their 26 and 27 footers. It is a newer design which features a fairly long waterline, a wide transom, and double spreaders. Approximately five hundred CS 30s were built during the latter half of the 1980s. The CS 30 was designed by Tony Castro, best known for the Irish Admiral's Cup Yacht Justine, and it definitely has some high-performance characteristics. The boat is fairlylight at 8,000 lbs., but has lots of weight down low; the 43-per-cent ballast ratio keel has a draft of five feet, six inches. This is balanced by a tall double-spreader masthead rig with a good deal of sail area. A fast and fun boat to sail complete with a REBUILT LOW HOUR diesel engine, aft cabin, wheel steering. Built strong for serious sailing yet light enough to be responsive in light air. | ||
