CHB Oceania 36 Sundeck Trawler

Chung Hwa is generally regarded as one of the more experienced Taiwan builders with a string of successful models sold into the North American market. The CHB Oceania 36 is an affordable double cabin sundeck design with a charming trawler-style profile, conventional semi-displacement hull with a long keel and, of course, the obligatory full teak interior typical of most Asian imports of her day. Economical to operate, the moderate-sized engines (twin Perkins M-236 90hp Diesels) will provide comfortable cruising speeds in the 7.5 knot range and burn only 2.5 gal/hr at that speed.

Aside from the traditional interior woodwork and practical two-stateroom dinette layout, OUR TIME features a fairly large salon separated from the galley with a countertop. Her salon features an L-shaped dinette, two leather swivel/reclining chairs with footstools, and a coffee table. Her lower helm station has full instrumentation displays along with two convenient deck access doors.

Her galley is only three steps down from the salon and has a full size fridge with freezer and double stainless steel sinks, 3-burner propane stove with oven and a 2-yr-old convection/microwave oven. She also boats ample storage throughout the galley with good ventilation from her center hatch and opening portlights.

Forward is the oversized guest V-Berth with three-year-old cushions and new window and hatch covers. Her master stateroom is to the aft of the trawler and boasts a walk-around queen bed with custom mattress. She features a great deal of storage cupboards, hanging closets and drawers. Her ensuite head has a macerator toilet, a round stainless steel sink and a separate shower stall.
