Description:

The Celestial 48 is a powerful blue water cruiser featuring open interior spaces and beautiful teak joinery. She is a well balanced and fast passage maker. She has been maintained to a high level by her knowlegable current owners, who have continued to upgrade various systems to ensure a safe and reliable platform for bluewater cruising. The Celestial 48 is a superior collaboration of the advanced design concepts of Ted Brewer and Bryce Furhiman and the incomparable boat building skills of the craftsmen at the Celestial Xiamen yard. Using the finest materials, Celestial Yachts built a yacht which has it all - speed under sail, safety in any sea condition and comfort found in few yachts of this size. The design target for the Celestial 48 was to produce a yacht that performs well in both boat speed and interior volume. This was achieved by a process not unlike the type used by racing yacht designers. Hull proportions were studied along with interior layouts to produce a yacht proving that space and comfort is achievable in a large cruising yacht without sacrificing speed and sailing ability. The interior is finished in nice warm teak tones, with plenty of natural light and ventilation. With the advent of the internet, the generous navigation area can double as your office away from home. On sailing performance, this boat has the ability to be pressed hard with good helm balance. The deck design makes her easily managed by a two-person crew.

The Celestial 48, moderate displacement yacht has proved to be a strong boat with a sought-after layout, excellent storage and good sailing characteristics and they have been seen cruising in all the world's oceans. She is a wise choice for a couple or family looking for a bluewater passagemaker or coastal cruiser with a well known pedigree for excellent sailing performance in all points of the compass, and all in a solid, time tested construction. So in essence, the extremely comfortable Celestial 48 offers quality and performance that distinguishes her from every yacht in this size and class.

The U-shaped galley is to starboard with adequate counter and drawer space, and food storage space is good. A gimbaled stove and a top-loading refrigerator The sinks are on the centerline and close to the companionway steps so the cook doesn't have to go far to get food to the crew in the cockpit. The companionway has a built-in locker in each step and room for batteries underneath the bottom step.

The forward facing navigation station is on port, across from a small wet locker and just at the head of the passageway that provides access via a door to the large, engine room. This dedicated, well-insulated and well-lit, machinery space allows access to all sides of the re-powered engine - a 68 hp Kubota. To starboard of the engine, there is enough room for the genset and the aft bulkhead has plenty of room for equipment installation including the Sani Loo system, an inverter, battery charger, fuel filters and the raw water strainer. This is a very large engine room by sailboat standards, and it's great to have dedicated access without disrupting the living spaces. The interior features 6' + headroom.
