Interlude’s interior is handcrafted of contrasting woods-cypress for the hull, ceiling, and bulkheads, Honduras mahogany for the joinery and ash for the sole (all beautifully varnished). Starting forward is the guest stateroom with 2 single berths and lots of storage. Next to port is the separate shower w/ tub and head, to stbd is L shaped galley with pass through to salon. Next aft is the salon with settee to stbd, followed by storage cabinet. To port is the circular dinette followed by a very large nav station, again with lots of storage. Aft of the salon is the walk-in engine room allowing easy access to all systems. And finely we reach the master stateroom with 2 large berths equipped with lee-cloths. The master stateroom can be accessed through engine room walk-through or from her cockpit.

You will not find a cleaner, more organized engine room. Everything is proper and labeled. Recent surveyor states "Vessel appears in "Bristol" condition". Very efficient cruising, recently motoring 36-hrs using 23 gal of diesel. At 2,000 RPM at 5 kts in 3-4' seas, she sips just 1/2 GPH giving her tremendous range.

Her custom aluminum spars were custom built by Johnson Sails of St. Petersburg (all with internal halyards, reefing lines, outhauls, topping lifts), Harkens 3” Big Boat Blocks and several other items were especially made for Interlude. Sails were built by Schurr of Pensacola, a racing sail maker who happened to be experienced with gaff rigs. They incorporate moderate roach supported by battens for draft control. She is an “American Schooner” rig with jib, staysail, gaff-rigged foresail and marconi rigged main (seller has boom if buyer wants to convert back to gaff rig). Ratios, etc:

Hull and Deck
Technical hull info from survey: The hull of this vessel is constructed of ¼” welded mild steel plate and framed with ¼’ mild steel frames on 30” centers. The decks are ¼’ welded mild steel with the same type of steel framing. Longitudinal 1/4'” X 2” flat bars welded to the transverse framing with the ¼” edge against the plating and spaced approximately 12’ apart help form the hull and prevent set-ins and warping of the plate material. The inside and outside of the hull was sand blasted to white metal and flame sprayed with molten aluminum and the primer and finish coats applied over the aluminum sealing the mild steel from the atmosphere and preventing the wasting of the mild steel. The hull has a sailboat stem, a slightly rounded transom, and a full keel. Strengthening is provided by a mild steel keel and stem plus six welded mild steel bulkheads. The deck construction, the attachment of the decks to the hull plus the deck clamp, chine, and sole framing helps strengthen the hull. There was no evidence of hull flex, set-ins, or bulkhead movement where these parts could be inspected. The lack of wasting ferrous material of this vessel is due to the proper cleaning and proper application of the flame spraying process of the hull when it was new and the proper care applied by a devoted owner. The exterior of the hull is cosmetically excellent. I consider this hull bottom to be structurally sound and in excellent cosmetic condition.

Condition comments from June 2011 survey:
Subject Vessel appears in "Bristol" condition for a vessel 26 years old and this type. The owner takes great pride in maintaining Subject Vessel and it shows. He has just completed a new anti-fouling bottom paint job and repainted Subject Vessel topside above the waterline with Awlgrip-type paint so that boat appears "like new". Vessel was out of the water for nearly one month undergoing up-dates and routine maintenance which has off-set the amount of normal depreciation on the Present Market Value.
