The two boat owner seriously wants this boat sold and has sent you all a message with a serious reduction in price! Lions Paw was just surveyed, and ultra sounded and is fully repaired and ready to sail away on..... She was attractive before, and now she's really a great opportunity for all you serious sailors!

There is a reason so many cruisers choose a steel boat. Solid and tough, and a great value if you find a beautiful boat by a great builder! This Amazon 37 should never be confused with a steel boat build as a backyard project. Amazon is well regarded and this is the real thing, professionally built steel yacht with a smooth round-bilged hull, and fair skin. She has a beautiful and modern underbody, sheer line, and cutter sail plan. The hull is strong and stiff. The Amazon 37 built in Vancouver, B.C. is regarded as equal to some of the best steel sailing yachts, in a size and price that most of us can afford, and listed by John Neale as a desirable yacht for serious blue water cruising.

Our offering, this Amazon 37, is very special. She is a 1985 Amazon 37 Cutter, the last of only seventeen professionally built in Vancouver, BC. This particular Amazon 37 was finished as the highest grade model offered – the “Special Edition”, with fine finishes, offshore-grade rigging and equipment, and a larger engine. She is “drop dead gorgeous" on the outside, as she is on the inside. The woodwork is solid teak and finished in yacht quality. You would never know she is steel. Her underbody is beautiful and flowing with a skeg-hung rudder and a swept back cruising keel. It is similar to the underbody of a Valiant 40. She offers a powerful cutter rig configuration. She has been always cared for with pride and love; and equipped for world voyaging.

This vessel has a cruising history that extends from the Pacific Northwest, to Mexico, to the Caribbean and Bermuda, to the entire U.S. East coast and even the Panama Canal. A few years back Lion’s Paw sailed admirably in the 1500, cruised the Caribbean, and then returned via the Tortola Bermuda Race when she had the honor of having Steve Black, founder of the Caribbean 1500 aboard. In fact, Steve recommended this boat to the current owner because she performed flawlessly. She is ready to go ocean racing again if you will take on the challenge! She's an offshore cruiser of the stout kind. That is exactly what attracted her current owner. If you are looking for a rugged ocean going yacht that can take anything the sea can dish out, keep reading. She's a great boat.

The current owner has maintained the boat in perfect cruising condition. Everything is in proper working order and ready to go. Just pack up some groceries and your personal gear and cast off the lines! There are not a lot of boats you can actually just get on and go like this.

If you’re dreaming of sailing somewhere exciting...like Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, the Alaska or Norway or even South to the Antarctica regions, or on to the Atolls of the South Pacific, you might like the idea of a beautiful steel haul. There is a reason that so many circumnavigators choose steel. With this bullet proof rock solid world voyager, there is no fear of hitting unlit weather buoys or dead heads or even semi submerged containers. Cruising with steel definitely has its positives, especially if you have far reaching horizons.
