Sleeps up to (4) owners/guests in two staterooms plus two dinette and one settee/lee berth for a total of (7) berths. The MASTER STATEROOM is forward, offering double V-berths with filler; opening overhead hatch; built-in locker storage; and private access to the ENCLOSED HEAD next aft to starboard with integral shower. General access to the head is from the forward walkway; large hanging locker and cabinet storage is opposite on port.
Next aft in the MAIN SALON is a large U-shaped convertible DINETTE, with pull-out leaf extending to the large, single-berth sized settee on port with built-in bookcase over. Next aft to port is the roomy NAVIGATION STATION, with chart table and easily accessible overhead electronics. Finally aft to port is the well-planned AFT CABIN, with standing headroom at the entrance, a built-in seat and locker outboard, and a double quarter berth. Center line steps between the gally and nav station lead up to the large and sheltered COCKPIT.
INTERIOR aboard 'KESTREL' is original, and is excellent condition throughout, featuring the top quality signature Wauquiez teak paneling and joinery; teak and holly cabin sole; and matched upholstery in navy blue. ALSO NOTE: AM/FM/CD stereo system; Wallace forced air heater; Dickinson Newport solid fuel heater, with fan, extra reading spot lamps. HEADROOM reaches approximately 6'2".

ENGINE is freshwater cooled with 1792 hours. Sail drive with a three blade 16" folding Volvo prop. Racor500FG fuel filtration; emergency fuel shut-off valves for engine and LPG galley stove; manual wheel steering with upgraded compass; (2) Henderson manual bilge pumps; Upgraded head and holding tank; 12v DC macerator overboard pump and deck discharge, for holding tank. Growler davit for O/B motor lift; inflatable dinghy w/removable floor; 4 HP outboard motor.
The Pretorien benefits from all the experience gained by the yard in the production of the Centurion series, and 'KESTREL' has all the usual qualities of a Wauquiez yacht: Safety, comfort, performance and good looks. The construction of a Pretorien has been studied very carefully. All of the bulkheads are bonded to the hull and then the deck is bolted and bonded to the hull.
The hull itself has a number of stiffeners glassed in. The ballast is lead and all of the hardware has been carefully selected. The performance of the Pretorien is that of a modern hull shape carefully designed for speed. The lead ballast gives a reduced wetted surface and to the delight of the helmsman makes it a very stiff boat. The aesthetic appearance of the Pretorien is unquestionable. The deck layout is remarkable because the deck is flush, giving wide side decks while the equipment remains well protected in the deep cockpit. 'KESTREL' is a terrific example of the Wauquiez commitment to quality construction.
Condition of bottom and SD very good (last haulout 9/10 - inspection & zincs; previous haulout 4/10 - anti-fouling paint, etc.)
