This Seawolf 43 has been steadily improved and maintained in top condition regardless of expense.
Akare is believed to be the first of her class and when Nautor’s Swan saw her they claimed her lines were so close to their designs of the 70’s they headed to court, and lost, hence her sail number is SWA 1 !
Ten of these strong and fast yet comfortable yachts were built over a 10 year period from the yard at Littlehampton in England. She was designed by David Feltham who considers this model to be the best of his designs, and everyone who has sailed aboard her gives testament to her ‘faultless’ sailing characteristics.
With a solid hand laid grp hull she is a strong, sea-kindly and substantially built blue water yacht with a surprising turn of speed.
She was sold by me to the current owners four years ago, and since then they have substantially improved and refitted the yacht. She is currently offered for sale in first class condition.
Only used occasionally for gentle family cruising and hauled ashore every summer for the last 18 years for regular professional maintenance. Recently this has included; strengthening and rebuilding the deck; new self tailing winches and deck gear leading all the lines aft; a fabulous new teak cockpit; new hatches and hull ports; new stainless steel anchor and chain; new chainplates; a full suite of top of the line electronics; engine and drivetrain overhauled with new engine mounts, gearbox, cooling, injection, starter motor and exhaust system; all the systems renewed; new seacocks and hoses; and a smart new interior freshly refitted, with a new Force 10 oven; plus much, much more.
Sleeping 5 in 3 cabins plus 2 more in occasional berths in the saloon, with a very generous galley, a comfortable saloon and a spacious aft cockpit she makes an ideal yacht to spend the winter months exploring the Caribbean, and is fitted with both wind generator and solar panels for lazy living ‘on the hook.’ A very capable blue water sailing yacht.
The owner’s are only selling this yacht because they have not had enough time to really enjoy her. She is in sail-away condition, just waiting to go.
Lying in Antigua, priced reduced to just US$ 95,000
