This original-owner 30’ Pearson 303, built in 1984, is located in Brooklin, Maine and isavailable for showing by appointment only.  The 303 was produced by Pearson Yachts between 1983 and 1986 and over 300 boats were built. With an eye-pleasing sheer and unpretentious good looks, the 303 is an economical and versatile family cruiser. The hull is a one piece hand laid layup, with a balsa cored deck on the horizontal surfaces and plywood coring in the high load areas. With its broad beam, the 303 is quite stiff and likes to be sailed on her feet. She has a sea-kindly motion offering a dry ride combined with a comfortable “big boat” feel. Four adults can occupy the cockpit in comfort and she is easily sailed short-handed. TARAN has had only one owner since new, and has truly been kept in “Bristol Fashion”. Many upgrades have been made during ownership. Below deck, the galley is located to port just forward of the companionway, and has  adequate counter space and onboard food storage. TARAN has teak bulkheads, teakinterior tim, and a teak-and-holly cabin sole. The companionway steps are easily removed to expose the two-piece box surrounding the 13-horsepower Yanmar diesel that will move TARAN at 6 knots under power. Aft to starboard is a large quarter berth capable of sleeping two persons; a forward-facing chart table is fitted at which the navigator can

work while seated at the head of the quarter berth. The port and starboard settees in the

main salon double as comfortable berths with the seatbacks removed. A dining table folds down from the starboard bulkhead and has a leaf that extends to the port bench to allow seating for four. Forward of the main salon and to port is a hanging locker, opposite which is the head compartment. Large for a 30-foot boat, it has standing headroom, a basin with hot and cold pressurized water, a handheld shower, and an electric pump to drain the sump overboard. Forward, a bi-fold door opens into a truly comfortable owner's cabin with a small bureau and a large V-berth. Headroom throughout TARAN is more than 6 feet, in the main cabin, in the owner’s cabin, and in the bathroom. Large opening deck hatches, above both the forward and main cabins, and four opening ports on each side of the cabin house provide for plenty of light and ventilation below.

If you are in the market for an affordable and roomy 30 foot cruising sailboat that is justly turnkey, capable of safely and comfortably making coastal passages, TARAN is theperfect choice. Call today to make an appointment to view this exceptional family cruising sailboat.
