  The Hatteras 52 Convertible is virtually identical to the The earlier Hatteras 50 Convertible with the extra length going into a larger cockpit a big improvement. A popular design (ust over 200 were built), she's constructed on a modified-V bottom with a long keel below and balsa coring in the hutisides. In mid-1987, the Hatteras 52 was dramaticaIIy restyled on the outside with a fresh deckhouse window treatment, solid front windshield, and a redesigned flybridge. Two floorplans were available a galley down layout with two stateroonis and a more popular deckouse galley wangement with three staterooms. Both floorplans include two heads with stall showers. A teak interior was standard, . The large cockpit features a mouled in tackle center, transom door with gate, and an access door to the spacious engine room. A good sea boat, the Hatteras 52 will cruise around 24 knots with 820-hp Manns and reach a top speed of 28 knots. Notably, this was the first Hatteras convertible to use side-dumping exhausts.
