Safara! She is truly one of a kind. Probably built for the kind of person you are. She is a rugged steel ocean going cutter with three staterooms so you have your privacy aft and you can take the two kids! She was designed by Alan Pape who enjoyed a life long career of sailing and designing amazing boats possibly beginning with a two-man keelboat used in the 1948 Olympics! Alan Pape also entered the design for a competition in the “Yachting” magazine in 1943. No, he is no longer living with us as he died in about 2000! He was the prolific designer of many beautiful boats, many special boats, and many steel boats. Pape is known for his beautiful and sea-kindly designs which have sailed about as far and wide as it is possible to sail.... Safara is a testiment to his designs. She is a beautiful hard chine and quite elegant vessel. Recently surveyed by a steel boat expert, she is found in very good health. That survey is availble to serious buyers. She is very well built of good materials with good workmanship. She was built in Cornwall England completed in 1984. She has cruised Spain and Portugal, then to the Caribbean. Her first owners lived aboard for years! The current family took over in 2005 ish and they definately gave the boat deserved attention and put her in great shape for a family voyage. They've been making her perfect for the next owner, as perfect as they can. They did a great job. Safara is waiting for her next family. She is chomping at the jack stands to go! So let's go. There are not so many boats tough enough to put your family aboard. She is capable and seaworthy and comfortable enough. Three staterooms in a 44 foot boat make this a genius arrangement.
