S/V OUTLAW is a powerful high performance cutter with a double cockpit deck plan and luxurious three cabin two head cruising interior. A new Yanmar 110hp. engine has just been installed in September 2012. In addition, the teak decking has been removed from the side decks and replaced with a high quality Awlgrip finish. This work was also completed in 2012. The yacht was originally built for the 1985/86 Whitbread around the world race and finished in 2nd place. After the Whitbread she was dry stored for eleven years in Holland. The present owners purchased the yacht in 1997 and shipped her to the family ship yard in New York where she underwent a major refitting. The refit involved converting the spartan racing interior into a well designed cruising interior complete with high quality teak cabin sole, Baltic solid doors, Corian counter tops and full galley amenities. A new Rondal high aspect mast and new Navtec discontinuous rod rigging was also installed. In more recent years the owners have cruised the Caribbean and developed a successful day charter business in the US Virgin Islands. OUTLAW has been USCG certified to carry 12 passengers and 3 crew in the past although the certification has not been renewed. All required drawings and inspection documents are available should a new owner wish to have the yacht reinspected for multi pasenger charter. Presently OUTLAW is hauled out in Albany New York where she is stored inside and protected from the elements.
