Owners Comments:

SEEKER is a 30’ fiberglass trawler built in Finland by seasoned Finnish craftsmen. Her hull is hand laid-up fiberglass, clapboard configured with a canoe stern. She goes through the water like a swan. When I saw her beautiful lines, felt her Nordic heritage and saw her cozy aft cabin I immediately fell in love with this unique boat. Being a cabinet maker I spent a great deal of time admiring the amount to care that went into all the work that had been done to her with little regard to the expense. After a very exciting and successful sea trial, I bought Seeker with the intention of living on her in a few years after my wife and I retired.

We brought her home to Boothbay, Maine and had a wonderful summer cruising these challenging waters and many of the romantic islands that are scattered from here to Mt. Desert Island. We were impressed with her ease of motion and handling, her functional interior design, quiet fuel efficient (¾ gal. @ 7 knts,) new Yanmar motor, 2nd station aft helm, and finally the Vetus hydraulic steering system.

In that short time we realized that as much as we loved this boat and all her fine qualities, to live on her, we needed more room. So…to make a long story short, we have decided to find a bigger boat. Also, the more time we spent on the boat, the more my critical eye began making me think about improvements I could make on Seeker during the winter months and early spring and make her even prettier and stronger than she already was. I have owned several boats and have earned a reputation for the beautiful boats I have sold and this boat is no exception.

Over the winter, working with dedicated, skilled boat builders for which Maine is famous we reinforced the rub-rail and meticulously prepared her for her new green Imron paint which has been professionally applied on 7/6/2011. Also, her teak has many coats of Epifanes varnish applied and we are currently installing the new stainless guard rails and, finally, new Sunbrella cushions in the main salon are now installed…She is now ready for her new owner!
