Confidently handling 25 foot seas off Venezuela or providing the comforts of home in remote anchorages of Alaska, the GB49 has again proven to a most capable and dependable cruiser.
Spacious aft master stateroom sleeps 2 owners with full head and full shower stall. There are 2 guest staterooms forward accessed via the staircase to port forward in the salon. The forward quest cabin has a large V- berth, two hanging lockers, opening deck hatch with stowed teak ladder, sliding windows and curtains , large drawers beneath the berths and huge storage area beneath the mattresses. The entry door is paneled teak with chromed brass hardware.
Starboard side in the forward companionway is the second guest stateroom. It has two single beds with a hanging locker between the berths. There are drawers beneath the berths. This cabin also has sliding windows and curtains. There is a paneled teak entry door with chromed brass hardware.
The two forward staterooms share the same head and stall shower which is portside in the forward companionway. There is a flushing Techma electric head, cultured marble countertop and sink, above and below counter storage, sliding windows with curtains and the typical interior teak paneled entry door with chromed brass hardware.
There is a hinged teak stairway which leads up and aft to the saloon/galley area. This stairway also raises to provide easy access to the spacious engine room. The forward companionway area is divided from the saloon by a hinged teak louvered door and a sliding hatchway.
The galley and saloon are located up at amid ship. The fully equipped lower helm is forward to starboard in the salon with immediate access door to the side deck. The spacious galley is located to the port side in the saloon with entry door at the aft end. It has large opening windows and Corian counter tops. Appliances include Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer boxes with teak covered doors, 3 burner ceramic top electric stove, new in 2009, a microwave oven and deep stainless steel sink. A new Uline Icemaker was installed in the bar opposite the galley in April, 2010.
There is a teak overhead cabinet with hinged doors and shelves and there are hinged teak drop-down glassware and dish storage lockers above the countertop and teak drawers and cabinet beneath the countertop. A spacious dish locker/pantry is in a raised area fully forward in the galley at the windshield. This storage space has a flush bi-fold hinged hatche for easy access to this space. A Stainless steel MAGMA gas grill installed on upper deck. Just aft of the galley and forward of the port entry door is a counter space with a flat screen TV and shelves and drawers below. There is also a storage cabinet on the aft bulkhead just inside the port entry door.
Aft of the helm area and bar is a very large L-settee upholstered in white simulated leather. There are two small modular ottomans with storage in lieu of the standard teak yacht table. This table is in storage and available as inventory at time of sale.
There are large opening sliding windows port, starboard and aft in the spacious deckhouse area. There are large windows forward. White cotton curtains are placed in this area. The windows in this area are new 1/2" safety glass and are heavily tinted except for the windshield glass.
Washer and dryer units are located in engine room
The full beam master stateroom is reached by a large teak stairway with two hinged teak doors aft in the saloon. This stateroom features an Island Queen bed with plenty of room to walk around. The bed has white soft goods with Egyptian Cotton bedding. There are drawers beneath a teak shelf port and starboard and drawers also beneath the bed. There is a large hanging locker with teak louvered door porside forward in this cabin. There are built-in night stands on either side of the bed, a larger one on the port side which can serve as a desk. Just above this area is a large stowed teak companionway ladder which can be pulled out for access to the aft deck. There is the typically large 49 GB full head with tub shower starboard side forward in this cabin. It features a Techma marine head, cultured marble sink and countertop, mirrored vanity, teak cabinets and under-counter drawers. There is an aft companionway portside which has a sliding hatch and two hinged teak doors.
All the cabins feature beautifully executed teak joinery with matte finish varnish, teak parquet soles finished in polyurethane varnish and brass flush-mounted hatch pulls, sliding windows with newly installed glass and Starboard tracks, cotton curtains, designer soft goods and accessories, 12vdc lighting fixtures, brass reading lights and conveniently placed switches and outlets. There is reverse cycle air-conditioning with digital control panels. forward, aft and in the saloon.

NEW STEERING/AUTOPILOT PUMP & ACTUATOR 03/2014
All the factory installed planked teak decking materials were removed in 2011. The fiberglass decks were smoothed and leveled with epoxy resin, prepped and painted with Buff colored Awlgrip non-skid paint. All the external varnish was striped to the bare teak and 12 coats of varnish were added to the safety rails and cap rails. Exterior flybridge teak was painted with white Awlgrip to reduce the tedious upkeep of difficult to reach small varnished trim pieces. This also enhanced the overall esthetics of the yacht.
The typically wide side decks are accessed from the cabin via port and starboard cabin doors, starboard side forward at the helm station and portside aft in the saloon. There is also a companion way leading to the aft deck from the master stateroom via stowable teak ladder in the stateroom.
The sidedecks and aft deck area have a 10' bulwark, higher on the foredeck area. with varnished teak caprail. The bulwarks have large bronze hause holes at the bow, spring and stern cleats. The cleats are also heavy bronze thru-bolted to the bulwarks. The varnished teak safety railings sit atop heavy bronze stanchions bolted to the cap rail. The aft deck has three large deck hatches with bronze hinges and hatch pulls which access two large lazarette storage areas with removeable teak grate boards. The rudder posts and steering connections are beneath these grates. There is a large teak and bronze emergency tiller stowed in the larger lazarette area. There are three hinged boarding gate in the safety railings, one each starboard, port and aft. A large telescoping stainless steel boarding ladder with teak treads is attached to the transom and teak swim. platform. The transom is planked varnished teak with teak hailing port and name boards attached. There are molded fiberglass rubrail surfaces below the caprails and just above the waterline aft with bronze rubrails bolted on for dockside protection. The deck equipment also includes four fenders and six braided dock lines.
Fuel, water and waste filler caps are mounted on the side decks. The teak safety railings have artistic scrolling at the bow where the stainless steel pulpit railing join the teak safety railings. The pulpit is heavily built fiberglass and teak structure which carries a large electric Lofrans horizontal windlass with cathead and capstan drives. Heavy bronze rollers in the pulpit carry the CQR and Danforth anchors. The CQR has 5/16" BBB chain and the Danforth has 3/4" nylon rode with 15' of chain leader. Control switches are provided at the windlass, flybridge and lower helm stations. Shore power connections are provided at the pulpit and on the aft deck bulwark for 240vac connections and telephone & TV cable connections.
The flybridge deck is reached by steps and stairs with stainless steel hand rails from the port side deck. Heavy chocks are bolted to the aft cabin top and carry the 10' RIB and Yamaha 4-Stroke outboard. A Sunbrella storage cover protects the dingy. There is a launch and recovery system with an electric winch mounted on a track attached to the boom. The spacious flybridge occupies the same dimensions as the saloon area below. It has a large forward fiberglass console area which carries all the helm equipment, electronics and a large storage area beneath behind sliding doors. The typical venturi windscreen sits atop the console. There are two large seating consoles which have back-to-back seating, vinyl cushions and large storage areas beneath. There are removeable teak grates inside the modules to prevent condensation. The entire seating area is surrounded with stainless steel safety railings. There is a large Sunbrella Bimini top with weather enclosures on three sides. This area provides seating for 8 adults on the modular seats. There is ample room for additional individual chairs and a table. The mast and boom are step-mounted at the aft end of the bridge and carries the radar scanner and lighting equipment. The mast can be lowered partially or fully for bridge clearance when necessary.
Port and Starboard Light Boards are mounted on the flybridge superstructure for the large running light globes. The horn trumpet is carried beneath the forward brow and the remotely operated seach light is mounted on the forward brow.
