FWC Isuzu 6-cylinder DA120T engine; TwinDisc transmission; Vetus bow thruster; pedestal hydraulic steering in the cockpit; roller furling forward; Webasto heat system; centerboard for 3'3" draft to 6'6" draft - 12 knot cruise reported with electronically actuated centerboard raised! The pilot house is entered from port aft and has dinette to port and galley to a settee/berth to stb. with storage and a head with shower stall to port. The forepeak contains a seat to port, storage to stb., and a V berth fwd. A plywood/glass water tank is under the V berth and the Electro-San is under the seat to port. There is a chain locker as well as an amount of 3/8 galvanized chain. There is a metal framed hinged escape hatch over the berth.
FEATURES include LP gas range with gas monitor and controller with two (2) sensors with test circuits and alarm; Webasto diesel fired furnace system for cabin heat.
Electronics & Navigation
The pilot station has a Navico auto pilot with remote; Magellan 1200 satellite navigation; Apelco color fish finder depth sounder with alarm; Standard VHF marine radio and Raytheon radar. A 5-1/2”Danforth compass and two (2) lever engine controls are adjacent to the hydraulic steering station; the engine has full instrumentation including pyrometer.
Leeson electric motor that belt drives an Acme screw device which raises and lowers the daggerboard. A twelve 12vDC Par pressure pump and a manual pump provide water at the galley. The electrical panels here include a Marinetics AC with breakers. Load current and line voltage are indicated as well as polarity. The DC panel has breakers with load current and battery condition meters and testers for battery #1 and battery #2. Four (4) six 6-volt house batteries are located under pilot house sole and one (1) group 27 12v is located under front of V berth. ALSO NOTE: Heart interfaced inverter system.
Deck & Hull
The COCKPIT is self-bailing and the combings are high. There is bench seating port and starboard with removable lids; access to the ENGINE ROOM is through these seats. A large destroyer wheel is mounted to a GRP binnacle which has a 4-1/2" compass, engine controls and BOW THRUSTER control.
The TRANSOM is raked forward at a marked angle and acts as a ramp to bring a tender (currently an 8' sailing skiff) into the well area behind the cockpit. This spot is well protected by bulwarks and a surrounding stainless pulpit, which extends forward to surround the cockpit steering station.
The sloop rigged vessel bas an extremely raked stem, curved forefoot and a skeg back to the weighted DAGGERBOARD. The board is approximately 4' long and the attached flat sided weight is tapered to sharp ends and is approximately 8' ft. long. Two (2) rubber bumpers on top of the weight cushion the bull when the board is drawn up. There is a 5" four-bladed bow thruster twelve (12') feet aft of the bow.
The HULL is multi chined of GRP with three (3) planes to the guard. then a whaleback plane to the aft end of cockpit and a cambered deck above that. Forward of the cockpit the whale back raises further to become a pilot house with large windows. Access to the FOREDECK is up a stainless steel ladder located center fwd of cockpit and over the top of pilot house, which has stainless pipe rails. Main sheet traveler and sheet winch are located here also. The foredeck is protected by stainless pipe stantions and wire life lines, which connect to a stainless pipe BOW PULPIT for forward 10' of foredeck.
Sails & Rigging
MAST HEAD RIG is short with an aluminum mast with one (1) set of spreaders. The back stay reaches the deck 9' fwd. of the transom and splits above the helm station and is fitted with a tensioner. The forestay is a self furling sail mechanism with a manual furl reel operated from the cockpit. This stay is attached to the anchor roller mechanism and appears adequately attached to the stem and deck. There is a twenty two (22) Kg. Bruce anchor in the roller.
Two Barient twenty seven (27) WINCHES are mounted port and starboard to sheet the head sail. There are Lazy Jacks for the main. The mast track is large. Halyard winches are Barient sixteen (16) to starboard and Lewmar six (6) to port. The chain plates are inboard, stainless, and fastened to interior bulkheads and reinforcing knees. SHROUDS are ¼”1 X 19 stainless steel; rigging screws are ½”. The radar is mounted under the spreaders.
The engine room contains on center a six (6) cyl. Isuzu diesel model DA120 with a turbo and Twin Disc reverse gear. To port are two (2) group twenty seven (27) batteries for the twenty four (24) volt start system and a Wabasto diesel furnace.
There is a thirty (30) Kg. Bruce anchor stored here also. A halon automatic extinguisher is mounted over the engine. The engine mounts are steel rails on GRP mounts with the heat exchanger lying on stb. mount.to stb. are two (2) lube oil filters and one (1) Racor 1000 for fuel.
A Hart interface inverter is mounted here also. Aft is 1-1/2”stainless steel shaft through standard stuffing box to flex coupling. Exhaust runs to pot riser then splits, north sea style. Natural ventilation.
With her electronically actuated centerboard keel raised, she reportedly cruises at up to 12 knots! Lots of creature comforts aboard, plenty of space, she'd make a great liveaboard - CALL for details on this customized John Anderson design...
