PK BOO II offers a prospective Buyer an effectively "new" boat at a fraction of the cost. A huge refit in 2008 left no area of the yacht untouched. Mechanically and electrically every system and component was either entirely replaced or completely overhauled and the interior and exterior was totally refurbished, keeping the classic elements of what was already a great looking yacht but adding some modern touches to bring her right up to date. The refit started from a technical standpoint, with engines and generators being rebuilt, electrical and hydraulic equipment replaced, bathrooms being ripped out, and every nook and cranny of the yacht being examined and wherever necessary replaced. The Owner's goal was to remove as much as possible any potential for breakdowns during a charter. Once this was achieved the next part of the refit involved reconfiguring the layout to be more suitable for charter so that the crew and service areas are now completely separate allowing guests greater privacy.This involved replacing a lot of equipment in the service are with smaller more state of the art equipment in order to create the space for a 2nd crew cabin aft.
The third and final part of the refit was for cosmetic and luxury upgrades. These included a smart new MIELE galley, new marble bathrooms, a new state-of-the-art nav station, new Audiovisual equipment with MP3 and Ipod connectivity, new flush hatches and portlights with tinted glass to replace the old aluminium hatches on the decks, and an entirely re-varnished interior woodwork involving hundreds and hundreds of hours of labour. A complete navy-blue paintjob and a new suit of sails and new running rigging rounded out the refit.
Having now completed all of this work the Owner has now decided that he wants to move to a larger vessel and offers the fruits of his labours to a new Buyer. Given the state of the market he is essentially offering all the money he has spent on the refit for free and merely wishes to recoup his initial capital outlay. This makes the yacht a seriously good bargain for any Buyer looking for a well-performing cruiser-racer in mint condition.
