Tanton Ketch

General Description
This is a Cat Ketch. The Cat ketch rig is not an aberration but the most popular and prolific sailing rig of yesteryear, evolving from the New Haven Sharpie of the 1850's. Minimal crew and ease of handling were important in working sailboats. Sailors turn to the Cat Ketch rig as they once more seek the same virtues.

The Tanton 43 will sleep 8 comfortably. She has two private staterooms plus two pilot berths in the main salon and a quarter berth aft. The two settees in the main salon also pull out and convert to doubles. Forward is the V-berth with generous storage in drawers, lockers and shelves. To aft are a head/shower to port and a closet to starboard. Moving aft is the main salon featuring an L-shaped settee to port with hanging locker aft; opposite to starboard is a large settee with storage outboard. Moving aft along the starboard side is the well laid out galley. On the port side is the second head with separate shower stall. Continuing aft is the second stateroom with double berth and plenty of standing room and storage. The chart table and quarter berth are aft of the galley on starboard. The engine access is under the centerline sinks in the galley and has good access from both sides and front.

Actual Condition
The boat was pushed around by high winds at its slip damaging about 10' of rub rail. There are also a few 1" gouges. The deck needs oiling.

Please inspect carefully for further damage.

Engines
The owner advises that the engine has about 887 hours and the generator has about 48 hours.

The vessel has a hot water heater. We are told that sails are in good condition.

A trailer is not included in this sale.
