Quoted from Mr. J. M. Turner survey’s report, from his inspection of this vessel in April 2010: …“ There are a good number of yachts of a bygone era that are regarded as classics and have been restored, and are sailing in this present day. In terms of G.R.P. yachts, the SWAN 57 may also be considered a classic; a fast, seaworthy cruising and racing yacht, elegant and comfortable. “Panacea” does not require extensive restoration, since during her 28 years of seagoing has been meticulously maintained by her one owner and showed no evidence of significant structural defect. Those defects found and reported in the foregoing, are matters of the routine tasks of maintenance, and largely reflecting 3 years laid up on land due to the ill health and the sad demise of the owner. Given the same careful and regular upkeep and maintenance, it will ensure a continuance of the sailing pleasure that this vessel so obviously has given in the past, and should give long into the foreseeable future.”
