"The Pearson 35 was one of our most successful. It was in production for 14 years, which was quite a record. We never approached that again. Most designs would last five years or so."
-- Bill Shaw, Pearson Yachts
The Pearson 35 enjoyed extraordinary success with a build run from 1968 through 1981. Over 500 Pearson 35's were constructed, most still in use. Substantially built, they offered a huge cockpit (9' 5" long!), a forward cabin large enough and with enough headroom to actually get dressed. The main cabin is bright, airy, and comfortable. The Pearson 35 has a long full keel with centerboard which provides shoal draft, making it possible to venture into places much smaller boats would hesitate going. Demand for the Pearson 35 continues with an active and competitive resale market for well-maintained vessels.
