Parkins/Herreshoff H 28

IOTA is fresh to the market this fall (2011) and represents a rare opportunity to obtain one of these beautifully crafted (Parkins Marine, Fort Lauderdale/1981) and wonderfully designed (L.Francis Herreshoff, Bristol/1942) little cruisers.  

This example is stunning.  The blue Awlgripped hull with lots of bronze and gleaming bright work is truly eye catching. The interior is in excellent condition - with nicely finished teak throughout.  The present owners (only her second) have clearly taken fine care of this boat and it shows.  Whether it be the bright-work, or the engine, or the sails, or any other aspect of this boat - the maintenance has been done well and on schedule.

These boats weren constructed of solid glass and have a great reputation for seaworthiness and quality of construction.  They offer the timeliness of the original Herreschoff design and the ease of maintenance of modern construction.  The interior joinery and finish is a wonder to behold and harkins back to earlier days of sail when the extensive use of quality woodwork was common in the best of yachts.
