This Formosa 46 is a takeoff of the Peterson 44 and gives the original design additional cockpit room and a larger aft cabin. This is a very capable boat that was designed for passagemaking. She has a fin keel and skeg mounted rudder and sails very well. Her teak decks have been removed and now are low maintenance fiberglass. There is a full cockpit enclosure. The cutter rig is very versatile. This model has a pullman style berth forward and a large double berth in the aft cabin. There are five additional berths for family or friends.

The layout of this Formosa is a bit unique in that there is no conventional V-berth. The forward cabin has a pullman style double berth to port and a separate single to starboard that is used as a storage area. The double has been designed to convert into a work area by removing the cushions and elevating the locker tops to work height under this berth is a very large storage area for long range cruising needs.Abit aft and to starboard in the forward cabin is the head. The head is now set up with a self contained porta poti for no discharge.
The main saloon has a U shaped dinette to port and a straight settee to starboard. Aft of the settee is the chart table and aft of the dinette is a U shaped galley.
There is a single berth in the walkthru to the aft cabin. The walk thru has limited bend over headroom. There is good access to the engine in the walk thru.
The aft cabin has great locker stowage and lockers all around the berth. The head is forward and to port in the aft cabin.
