The interior of "Messenger" is elegant. All woodwork is teak and has a beautifully oiled finish. The cabin sole is varnished teak and holly. Cushions are dark green and were replaced about 1995.
Starting forward, there is a stateroom with a large single berth to port. This will make into a double berth with a filler cushion. To starboard is a locker and a seat. There is an overhead Bomar hatch and 2 opening ports for ventilation.
Aft of the stateroom, to port, is the head area. A marine toilet is positioned forward in the area, and a vanity with stainless steel sing is outboard. A telephone type shower attaches to the faucet at the sink. An opening port and a dorade vent provide good ventilation.
Opposite the head is a large hanging locker.
The main cabin has port ans starboard settee / berths, with the port berth able to extend inboard to form a double berth. A large dining table with drop leafs is fixed to the cabin sole. "Messenger" has custom lockers with caning outboard of the berths. Water tanks are located under the settees with a small locker forward of each tank.
The galley is aft to port. It is "U" shaped, making it great for offshore sailing. There are double sinks in the forward facing counter area, served by a hot and cold pressure water faucet. There is also a manual back up pump and faucet. In the outboard facing section is a 3 burner Propane stove with an oven. There are good, deep lockers outboard of the stove for dishware and stores. In the aft section a large ice box has a flush cover in the counter top. Several drawers are located over the ice box counter.
Opposite the galley, to starboard, is a navigation table and area for electronics displays. Aft of the nav table is a wide quarter berth. A unique backrest was designed for the berth / seat, creating comfort for the navigator and a divider for all of the gear that is often stored on the quarter berth.
The main cabin has 9 opening bronze ports and a dorade vent for excellent ventilation.

"Messinger" has received the best of care with each of her 3 most recent owners. Her teak has been kept varnished by the current owners, one of whom was a professional finisher in a local yacht yard. Her topsides are glossy white gel coat, and decks are white with original tan non-skid gel coat.
Bottom paint is black and the bottom was stripped and barrier coated in 2001, with little build up of paint since.
