31' TIARA 3100 OPEN EXRESS CRUISER / SPORTFISH. Cosmetically this classic 1980's express is ready for an outing. This model's versatile layout is equally well-suited for fishing or cruising. Roomy teak-trimmed interior with private stateroom, full-size dinette, compact galley, sleeps four. Large cockpit has room for several anglers without bumping elbows. She offers good engine access, wide side decks, excellent running condition.


External Arrangement

The M/V Mermaid is a 1980 production built twin gasoline screw with an open express design of fiberglass construction showing raked bow with moderate flare, flat shear, and gently rolled transom with fiberglass swim platform. The trunk is set inboard to provide full walk around side decks. The boat is rigged with a custom hard top supported on aluminum arch and stainless steel stanchions, with a vinyl canvas enclosure. The original twin inboard engines were replaced with a pair of Yamaha 200hp outboard engines. 

  • Fishing cockpit is fitted with (4) four recessed Pompanette stainless steel rod holders in gunwales.

Internal Arrangement

Located three steps down from the helm is the galley-lounge area. The teak step lifts up to provide access to main DC switches, and storage. The AC and DC system control panels are located to starboard. Located to port is fully enclosed head compartment with a vanity and counter cabinet. The vanity has a molded sink with faucet and hand held shower fixture, mirror and manual marine toilet. Next forward to port is a galley area with a stainless steel sink, refrigerator, and recessed storage above and below with mica covered counter tops. To starboard is a fabric covered U-shaped lounge with teak pedestal table that converts to double bunk. Next forward to starboard is angled double berth with storage below. Next forward to port is hanging locker and covered vanity. Cabin area has glass over plywood sole, is fully carpeted, and has teak trim and teak veneer with white mica covered plywood for bulk heads and furnishings. 



Electronic and Navigation equipment is bracket mounted at helm.

Pumping Systems & Plumbing

The vessel is equipped with (1) one 1500 GPH Rule submersible bilge pump in stern bilge, with a West Marine automatic float switch and wired for both manual and automatic operation. Engine compartment bilge is equipped with Rule 1500 GPH bilge pump with Rule Super Switch automatic float switch wired for manual and automatic operation and an auxiliary float switch wired to a high bilge water alarm. Forward bilge has Rule 300 GPH bilge pump wired for manual operation and a Rule 360 automatic shower sump pump.  

Pressure hot and cold water is provided to galley, head fixture and deck fixture via pressure demand pump, Jabsco Par Max4 and Shur-Flo accumulator tank, newly installed, or through fitting for dock side water.

The vessel’s head is equipped with a recent vintage Jabsco manual marine toilet with 18 gallon polyethylene holding tank. Using Y-valve, provision is made via Jabsco self-priming waste pump to empty holding tank while at sea or via deck fitting for dock side pump-out.  Also provided is a Shur-Flo Blaster 12VDC raw water wash down pump for the vessels cockpit.

Air Conditioning & Heating

The vessel is equipped with a single Marine-Air revere cycle air conditioning unit of 9,000 BTU capacity located in space beneath dinette, with 120 VAC raw water circulating pump located adjacent.  

Domestic Systems

The vessels domestic systems consist of the following:

(1) One Titan 2.5 gallon 1500 watt hot water heater

(1) One New Sanyo, 120 VAC refrigerators



(1) One sectional 1- ¼” stainless steel bow rail

(1) One Lexan, 19” x 17” escape hatch center line over forward berth

(2) Two Lexan 11” x 14” ventilation hatches port and starboard on trunk cabin

(6) Six (3 each port and starboard) 16” x 8” aluminum framed opening ports with screens, at hull sides

(2) Two 10” stainless steel bow cleats

(2) Two 10” stainless steel mid cleats

(2) Two each chrome plated hawse pipe to 10” stainless steel stern cleats mounted in wale

(2) Two three inch overboard scupper drains in cockpit transom

(1) One aluminum arch aft of helm

(2) Two fiberglass seat/storage boxes with bench seats atop covered with foam and vinyl upholstery

Canvas and Upholstery; vinyl synthetic canvas (white) for isinglass enclosure.
