If you are looking for an affordable and asthetically pleasing blue water cruiser, then you need to look at this yacht.  This yacht has been exceptionally maintained.

Passports are well-known as quality cruising boats.  This is another reliable design by Stan Huntingford and meticulously built in Taiwan.  The Passport 45 version is not as well known as it's cousin the Kelly Peterson 44, but they are born of the same mold and manufacturer.  There were only 13 Passport 45's  built by the Shin Fe Shipyard before they changed up and started producing KP-44's.  She is cousin to the Liberty 458.  They were presented as ketches rather than the cutter rig on KP-44's.  This yacht has the exact same underbody as the well known 44; however the coach house is more of a raised deck salon giving 6'4" headroom and a much more airy interior.  Whereas the interior of the KP-44 is a bit cramped; the Passport is more open and the walkthrough to the aft cabin on the P-45 actually functions much better than the 44.  The interior on this yacht is very nicely appointed and all the cruising gear has been tastefully integrated.  This is one of the best cabin layouts you will find in a yacht.

The master stateroom aft features a queen size bed  with 6'2" headroom and a head to port.  There is a nice hanging locker starboard.  Forward of  the head is a large storage/equipment area which houses many of the boat systems.  There is access to the engine room through here or the passageway.  The passageway forward is on  starboard with a full workbench outboard.  This not only confines the boat projects to a work area, but leaves room for tools and spare parts.  The salon area is light and airy with large fixed portlights and a large Butterfly hatch overhead.   The hatch allows for great ventilation as well as a salty New England flair.  There is 6'4" headroom in the general cabin.  The  L shaped settee around the table and  bench seating to starboard are tastefully done.  There is a new Kenwood stereo system with Bose speakers as well as a Sharp TV and Sony DVD machine.  The fixed port lights are glazed with laminated glass and the opening port lights are also heavy duty SS construction. This yacht was outfitted with safety in mind.  The galley is to port of the companionway ladder and is secure in a seaway.  The refrigerator and large freezer are supplied by cold plates from Glacier Bay and the owner increased efficiency with R-50 vacuum panels.  The stove is a three burner Force10 with oven.  There is also room for the microwave and deep double sinks.  The secure nav station is to starboard of the companionway.  Forward of the salon and to starboard is a writer's desk  and then the second head is to port.  The head features a separate enclosed shower stall.  The guest Vee berth is forward with access to the anchor locker.

Above decks she is a sturdily built cruiser with high bulwarks and HD stanchions for safety.  Her original teak decks were removed and glassed in and a beige non-skid applied.  The center cockpit is well done and the dodger affords protection as well as great visibility.  She is ketch rigged making all sails a manageable size.  The rigging was replaced in 2003 and the sails are new in 2002.  The 12V windlass with 300ft of 3/8 chain, along with a SS 75# CQR anchor complete a strong system.  Everything about this yacht is designed to keep you comfortable and safe as you enjoy your cruising.

The original engine has been replaced with a 75HP John Deere and the original black iron fuel tanks have been replaced with marine grade aluminum.  The water tanks were also replaced.  The owners have done many upgrades in 2004/2007 period.  She has all the right, high quality equipment and it is current and ready to go offshore.

Espar diesel cabin heater, Glacier Bay AC unit, Dutchman boom preventer, new life lines in 2006, new water maker in 2006, new Raymarine chartplotter in 2007, new sails in 2004, six -6volt=660 amp hour  battery bank-new in 2011, new bottom paint in 2011.  Back up autopilot= Robertson AP-1000.  Last hauled and painted in 2011.
