This is a One-Off design from the well known Norwegian yacht designer Eivind Amble. She is a double ended ketch and is in superb condition. At present she is being used as a sloop for more flexibility. In the 90's she completed a 21 month "Round the World" voyage. "Golden Apple" has had a number of refits (total refit in 2002/2003) and has been continually updated every year. Her list of upgrades is endless i.e. 2009 Perkins 185HP engine, hydraulic winches, bow thruster, generator, water maker, heating and much more. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a really special "Blue Water Cruiser".
This double ender was built to Lloyd's. She has a carvel hull (30mm iroko teak) on laminated white oak frames. Solid Iroko keel with externally bolted lead ballast using manganese bronze keel bolts. The deck was totally renewed in 1994, 18mm teak decks on 14mm epoxied marine plywood fastened to the laminated white oak frames Semi balanced rudder hung on a skeg. Dual hydraulic steering i.e. wheel in aft cockpit and wheel at the semi-enclosed centre cockpit. Both cockpits are constructed of N8 Brine resistant aluminium The coachroof and superstructure are mahogany The semi-encosed wheelhouse is iroko on mahogany The topsides and bottom were burned off and the topsides were painted in "Awlgrip" in 2003 and still look excellent today.
