Downeaster Pilothouse

This Downeast Pilothouse motor sailor makes a perfect 2 stateroom condo in paradise.  Yet she is capable of sailing you anywhere you want to go, and with her inside steering you can do it in style and comfort!  Most everything is new on her in the last 4 years including her rebuilt engine, new standing rigging, refrigeration system, air conditioning, genset and electronics.  She has the galley down so the chef is located in a low center of the boat for easy cooking at sea or at the dock.  The salon/pilothouse has big windows which are great for the views, plus 100% sun block curtains for afternoon naps.  The large companion way extends the salon entertainment area out into the cockpit, so it feels like one big room.  But for sailing the companionway has two butterfly doors with windows and a bottom piece that goes on first; the bottom piece has been modified for ease of stepping into the salon and to keep the water out and a small cut out to make it easy to get in and out of the boat when installed. The cockpit is fully enclosed and has fill ins on the sides so the  seats can be used as extra bunks or just for sleeping outside in the cool breeze.  The traveler was moved from the back of the cockpit to the cabin top so the helms man no longer has the mainsheet  hitting him in the back on every tack or jibe.  She also has a roller furling main so she is easy to single hand.
