With almost 800 launched, the Bill Crealock-designed Westsail 32 was THE boat that made ocean cruising practical and affordable for sailors of modest means and this custom finished (in lovely old growth teak), beautifully maintained example--with less than 100 total hours on the 55 hp Isuzu diesel (much more torque than the 20 hp stock diesel!), NO TEAK DEAKS and an ALUMINUM MAST--is the nicest one we've seen in YEARS.
There are A LOT of tired old Westsails out there; THIS one has been owned by the same family since new, she's always been kept under a full boat cover and literally looks like she was launched yesterday--note that the anchors have never used, nor has the stainless steel oven!

Offset double berth forward, just aft port side is head with locker opposite. Continuing aft is raised dinette to port, settee with much storage above opposite. Far aft is galley to port, centerline companionway and nav station to starboard.
Note BEAUTIFULLY finished out custom interior teak joinery with white oak overhead and flawless teak & holly sole, salon table from Iroko (a very dense African teak) salvaged from the steamship Washington which foundered in 1922. 6'1 headroom, interior is FLAWLESS

110V AC / 12V DC. Thirty amp shorepower service, three 6V lead acid batteries in two banks with parallel switch, smart battery charger.
Depth sounder (this is all the boat has in the way of electronics, she's only ever been used as a daysailer so owner didn't see point in installing electronics that would just go obsolete).
Sails & Rigging
Cutter rig currently set up as a sloop. Profurl roller furler (2004) with a high cut 95% Yankee, hank on staysail, loose-footed Dacron mainsail (sails from 1987). Deck stepped aluminum mast with compression post. Five stainless steel winches, with the two primaries being self tailing, new halyards and running rigging.
Deck and Hull
Based on the Colin Archer North Sea pilot boats, the Westsail has a heavily hand laid up FRP hull (12 layers fiberglass mat and roving), full keel with lead ballast sealed and bonded to the hull which has an epoxy barrier coat, barn door rudder with tiller steering, custom stainless steel bow sprit and stainless steel boomkin designed to accommodate a windvane. Also note beautiful solid bronze double-dog portholes with screens, bronze Dorade vents, varnished solid teak hand turned toerail that's a work of art.
Bronze manual anchor windlass, two #35 plow bow anchors with 75' of 3/8" galvanized chain and 50' of line rode (never used!).
This is Hull # 669, keel laid in 1977, launched in 1983, last bottom painted April 2015 at which time a new cutless bearing and packing gland was installed.
Engine and Mechanical
Fifty five horsepower fresh water cooled Isuzu four cylinder diesel, installed installed in 1982 with less than 100 total original hours (this engine looks brand new, folks!).
1 1/4" bronze shaft thru bronze packing gland and strut to three-bladed bronze prop; note that shaft angle was modified when engine was being installed so the boat backs straight in reverse.
