TRIO is a Kelly Peterson-44 cutter-rigged sailboat. She was designed by Doug Peterson and built in Taiwan in 1979. We bought Trio in 2005, and in the time since have completely and painstakingly refurbished her. We have also, in that time, come to realize that we are not really sailors. Trio has been back in the water since April of 2012, and we have not sailed her once. She has been a beautiful home for us in these past months, but that's not what she was made for, and it's certainly not all she's capable of doing. Kelly-Petersons are a well-respected blue-water sailing/racing boat, built to cross oceans safely and comfortably. It's time for this boat to be sailed.

This boat has no known leaks. She has no known blisters. She is clean, dry and sound. You will probably want to update electronics, and the lifelines should be replaced. If you want to sit in the boatyard like we did, you could re-paint the mast and boom. But you probably should just go sailing.
