LOON FEATHER is a classic centerboard sloop designed by Ted Hood and built by Hinckley Yachts. With sweeping lines and fast hull form she offers up vintage elegance and excellent sailing performance. This design was one of the first to feature an Airex foam cored hull and Klegecell foam cored deck making her light and stiff.
A new Westerbeke diesel engine and new Hurth transmission were installed 2013. Hull topsides were painted with Awlgrip in December 2012. In addiition, she was completely re-rigged with new JSI spars and new wire standing rigging in 2009. The Doyle sails are easily handled with a Furlex roller furler and mainsail stack pack. Barient self-tailing winches and adjustable Navtec backstay and boom vang make sail trim quick and easy.
Her centerboard keel allows for a shoal draft of 4' 4'' when desired or drop the board down when beating to windward with an impressive 11' 7'' draft. The deck plan features a spacious aft cockpit, wide side decks, narrow low profile cabin trunk and flush foredeck.
The interior is beautifully finished with Mahogany joinery, solid doors and louvered cabinets. The layout offers sleeping accommodations for up to eight owners/guests, one head, complete galley and functional navigation station.
LOON FEATHER is currently at our Hinckley Portsmouth, RI yard. PRELIMINARY LISTING.
